Example Itinerary Adults and Couples Cambodia Retreat 2019 DAY 1 (Sunday) D * (Note: Included meals B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner) After settling at the 4-star Allianz Alize Boutique Villa from Siem Reap International Airport, the group will meet each other for a briefing and a fabulous degustation Khmer BBQ dinner down the road in the French Provincial Quarter of the city. DAY 2 (Monday) BL* The group will be transported by airconditioned minibus to the World Heritage area of Angkor Wat. After obtaining a photo pass to enter this unique location, there will be a tour of the outer temples and grounds surrounding Angkor Wat with time to explore on your own. Relaxation and meditation will be introduced on the journey. Perhaps a splash in the hotel pool on return, before a short wander to the local Night Markets might be worth it and the many restaurants of Pub Street. DAY 3 (Tuesday) BL* Have your camera ready for this day with so many village scenes on the way to Kampong Klang. Enjoy a wonderful refreshing boat ride out besides the floating houses out to the large Tonle 3
Sap lake. On our return we will be going to the award-winning restaurant at Spoons for lunch. Later on, after perhaps a massage at the hotel, we will be off the Phare Cambodian Circus with local performers. There will be time to have a snack at the Circus café before being seated. DAY 4 (Wednesday) BL* After two days of touring, this will be a lighter day reflecting on Cambodia s history by a visit to the National Museum, Killing Fields, and War Museum. After lunch at a highly acclaimed restaurant by Mr Mengly, the afternoon will be free to rest, swim, take a massage, or go on a city tour with Yem and visit the local pagoda. There will be time to visit Pub street at night. DAY 5 (Thursday) BD* Now to discover Angkor Wat, the 12 th Century marvel, this day with an early start. This will be followed by a lunch by the lake, and the some further surrounding temples, including the Elephant Walk and the Bayon temple. 4
In the evening, we are off for a short stroll from the hotel to experience the Apsara Theatre for a traditional Khmer dinner and show DAY 6 (Friday) BD* Optional tours are at an additional cost. This is the day of options when you can adventure on zip wires 40 metres above the jungle canopy or spend time at the Yoga Resort and/ or take photographs at Artbox for some 3D photography alternatively explore the market area. For the Zipline adventure, after a safety briefing and getting fitted out, you are guided by an instructor to take us as high as 40 metres climbing and flying. Lunch is supplied as part of the tour and we return early enough to have a swim or a massage. Then we are off for a Sunset Cruise on the Queen Tara at the lake, included in the price. DAY 7 (Saturday) BD* Following a fresh breakfast at the hotel inside your room or at the pool-side restaurant, there will be a half day tour of the Artisans Angkor Silk Farm and Craft workshops. You will witness local talent making the items on sale at the Artisans shop where you can buy refined stone / silver products and silk clothing to take home. This will be followed by a light lunch nearby. You will have time today to explore the Old Market and gather some gifts. A final group dinner will be held at the Café Indochine a surprise of local and Asian delicacies in candle light perched above the vintage car at the main entrance! 5
DAY 8 (Sunday) B After a magical week, you can opt to rise early for a mountain or temple sunrise. Otherwise, it could be time to lap up the hotel facilities and city surrounds before checking out and heading back to the airport to fly home or venture on your own to another location and further your holiday Note: * denotes that the meal is included in the price, excluding all beverages. The tours have been combined over the same week to cut down transport costs. CANCELLATION POLICY: Full fee refund if cancel on or before 02/04/2019, 50% cancel fee and 50% refund on or before 02/05/2019, 100% cancel fee after that date. SIDE TRIPS: It is possible for a side trip via Minibus prior/ after the week. #1 2-day Battambang Return (incl. art studio/ school, circus, bamboo railway) US$200 pp Minimum of 2 for accommodation at the Delux Villa for 2 nights & minibus return as well as entry to railway and night circus. You can also include this trip as an option at an additonal charge of US$50 pp within the retreat week. 6
#2 3-day Koh Rong Island (boat trip from Sihanoukville) US$250 pp Minimum of 4 for accommodation, minibus and boat fare return. Excluding meals and beverages. Costing is an estimate only. Note: Dates depend on availability of the minibus Please note: CHOICE OF TOURS: There are two separate hotels. You can choose which hotel you prefer. Numbers will be strictly limited to 16 persons per tour. You can state your preference for which tour options you would like, however this will possibly change the overall cost. Hotel choice, tour options, side trips and costs will be confirmed before 31/03/2019. Full payment and registration is due by 02/04/2019. AGE LIMITS: The retreat is designed for persons aged 12 years and older. If you wish to have a younger person join you on the retreat then this is possible however you should ensure that the child is accompanied at all times. There is no upper age limit, however due to the nature of the trip, all participants must be in good health and able to walk and climb steps independently. VISA REQUIREMENTS: Siem Reap, Cambodia can be visited by a single-entry tourist visa, for Australians, which can be paid upon arriving for US$30 with a passport sized photo. It is a 30-day visa if you wish to extend your stay in Cambodia. IMMUNIZATIONS: Although there is a low risk of transmission in Siem Reap, it is recommended that you are vaccinated, prior to the trip, for Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, and Tetanus. It is recommended that you consult with your GP. It is also suggested that adults attending take Malaria prevention antibiotics prior to flying and then one month after returning. You should bring 80% DEET protection. 7
WAIVER & INSURANCE: All participants in the retreat must sign and return the Waiver of Responsibility form and take out Comprehensive Travel Insurance for the duration of the retreat. Please ensure that the insurance covers medical and accident expenses including medical transportation home, if required. Some credit cards offer insurance if the trip is paid for by credit card. Please note the 2% surcharge for credit card transactions. AIRFARES: Currently the most direct and reasonable fare is a direct return fare is offered by Singapore Airlines from Sydney to Siem Reap with a stop over and transfer at Changi Airport, Singapore. China Eastern Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, and Scoot offer some of the lowest fares, though stop overs are likely to be longer. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Each day on the retreat there will be a short morning meditation session during the day tour. The group briefing in the hotel prior to the evening program around 5pm to 6pm. The group briefing will include debriefing the day s events, some mindfulness activities and preparatory work for the coming days. Meditation & art therapy sessions will occur whilst on day tours according to group needs.
