Each Ultralight aircraft model to be imported to Israel and prior to being operated in Israel requires the issuance of an Israeli Type Certificate. 2. The required documents, inspections, equipment and markings relating to Type Certification and import requirements are listed in Attachment. 3. Aircraft engines and propellers, which are installed in an Israeli type certificated ultralight aircraft are included in the type certificate of the aircraft. Ultralight aircraft engines and propellers which have been type certificated as part of the assembled aircraft or installation kit are eligible for import to Israel provided they are accompanied by a certificate of conformance stating that the product complies with the Israeli Type Certificate. Type Certification 1. A foreign manufacture of an ultralight aircraft contemplated for export to Israel shall apply by letter for an Israeli Type Certificate (T.C.). 2. The application for an Israeli T.C. and the required documents are to be forwarded to: Manager, Engineering and Manufacturing Branch Civil Aviation Authority P.O.Box 8, Ben-Gurion Airport 70150, Israel, Fax: 972-3-9774-592 3. 4. The basis for certification of the aircraft will be established on the date of application for issuance of type certificate and will be based on the Israeli Air Navigation Regulations. 5. The manufacturer may be requested to acquaint the CAAI personnel with the systems and structural design of these aircraft and perform flight tests. 6. The following placards must be in both the Hebrew and English language: a. Operation limitation placards b. Normal and emergency operation of exits c. Baggage compartment weight limit. 7. ATTACHMENT Israel Requirements for Import of Ultralight Aircraft Conditions for Import: Materials, parts, components or other Class II and III products may be imported under one of the following conditions: 1. The exporting country s authority has issued an export airworthiness approval tag or any other document acceptable to CAAI, stating that the product complies with the Israeli Aviation Regulations or other equivalent acceptable regulations, which have been reviewed and approved by CAAI, or 2. The aeronautical product was purchased/imported from a supplier listed in the manufacturer approved suppliers listing, and the manufacturer has established in the exporting country a quality control system acceptable to CAAI, or 3. Materials, parts or other Class II and III products manufactured in a foreign country are considered as complying with the Israeli airworthiness requirements when purchased or ordered through the aircraft manufacturer and that manufacturer : (a) Is a holder of a type certificate issued by CAAI for that aircraft, aircraft engine or propeller on which that product or part is installed; (b) That manufacturer is maintaining a material, parts and aeronautical products supply system that ensures compliance with the airworthiness requirement approved by CAAI; and (c) The product has been certified by means of an Airworthiness Approval Tag or other appropriate serviceability document acceptable to CAAI. עמוד 6 מתוך 6
