Corvette Expressions 3rd Edition Volume 132 August, 2017 Greetings fellow Corvette Express members; Welcome to August This year's Corvette Express Corvette cruising and show events have been a great success thus far. It's wonderful to see so many members involved in not only the activities, but the planning and coordinating as well. Once again, it's proof positive that what makes our club so great is its members. We still have a full calendar of things to do, so please check our website and attend as many meetings as possible for all the latest info. On the business end, club membership is holding its own, and we are financially sound. We can probably expect new membership to increase in the fall, as this has been a usual trend. None the less, we are doing very well and should continue our growth into the end of the year. Also, as a reminder, please contact our Sergeant-at -Arms/ Sunshine officer (Carol Heh) with any important info. regarding fellow members. Thank you all, and I'll see you at the August meeting. Yours in Corvettes, Rob Lombardi Greetings, and welcome to the August issue of Corvette Expressions. This month s big event was a cruise to Ticonderoga, New York and Lake George. Once again, the trip was very well attended and included a fun dinner cruise on Lake George and a sight-seeing cruise on Lake Champlain. A huge thanks to Bill and Donna Nagle for putting this all together; great job! Also, thanks once again to our grill-master, Greg Heh, as well as Carol Heh, and Howard and Joanna Fink for planning some delicious BBQs. For a dayto-day synopsis of the trip, as well as some great pictures, courtesy of Lynne Schneiderman and Bill Zide, please see page 5. (See how many times you spot Barbie, LOL!) Finally, a small group of club members took a chance on the weather and met at Jersey Freeze for some great ice cream on July 28. Luck was with them as there wasn t a drop of rain all evening! The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 2. See you then. Lisa Force Newsletter Editor -2-

Ticonderoga, NY July 9-12 On Friday, July 9, a large group of adventurous Corvette Express members met at the Cheesequake Service Area. With Bill Nagle driving the lead car, they embarked once again for a long week-end cruise; this time to Ticonderoga, NY. After a brief lunch break at the New Baltimore Rest Stop, they reached their lovely Adirondack destination in the late afternoon. -4-

Friday evening, members enjoyed a fabulous BBQ at the Stone House Hotel. A big thanks to everyone who put this together and also helped with the grilling! -5-

-6- After a good night s sleep, the group left for a lovely day of sight-seeing through the Adirondacks.

-7- Next stop: Lunch at Hobie s Restaurant in Plattsburgh. Then it was on to beautiful Lake George!

After enjoying some cocktails and great conversation, club members boarded the party boat and embarked on a lovely dinner cruise on Lake George. Luckily, it turned out to be a beautiful day! -8-

-9-

Sunday morning, the group stayed local to explore Fort Ticonderoga and the beautiful Lake Champlain. -10-

-11-

The day wouldn t be complete without a cruise on the beautiful Lake Champlain, followed by lunch at the Fort! -12-

The final excursions of the day included a ride to the top of Mt. Defiance, a ferry ride across Lake Champlain (including the vettes) and a last short cruise through Vermont. -13-
