Keep a nice quantity of your favorite dry foods on hand - rice, flour, and canned soups. Thank you very much to George and Lorretta for being the reporters. The May campout was held May 11-13 with early bird on the 10th at Lake City RV Resort in Lake City, FL. The campout was attended by Rich Gavin, Ken and Kath Cody, Bob and Sarah Edmondson, George and Lorretta Redderoth, Rich and Pam Frederick, Ken and Sherrie Risberg, Larry and Mary Schmuhl, Jack and Pat Dean, Don and Tressa Dishman, John and Sue Johnson, Duke and Barbara Denson and visitors, Roger and Diane Frederick. Rich Gavin arrived early in the week and was happily waiting for the rest of us to arrive. Thursday brought the majority to camp. By that evening we had 8 of the 12 rigs in camp. It was hot as everyone set up camp and visited. George, Lorretta, Larry, Mary, Ken and Sherrie enjoyed dinner at Cedar River Seafood. Everyone else did their own thing for supper. Nickels was the game of the night. There were multiple winners. There was a first time camper having problems with his electric and generator. Rich G. attempted to help him, followed by Larry who stayed with him until the campground personnel came to help and eventually moved the camper to a different site. Friday brought the rest of the rigs. The first time camper was now parked across the street from us. Friday and Saturday, Bob, Larry, Rich G, Ken, George and more participated in helping the gentleman who was still having power issues and had lots of first timer questions. Pat spoke to them about Good Sams and chapters. Ken gave them the Good Sams of Florida website so they could find a chapter near them. By mid morning there were many sitting outside Rich F s getting caught up on life. Big news, Ken and Sherrie have a new addition to their family, an eight week old Boston Terrier named Ellie Mae, Ellie. We all welcomed her to our camping family. Friday afternoon we gathered to play Sequence. Later after supper on our own, we gathered outside in the shade before going to the clubhouse for Card Bingo. There was a lot of laughter and fun while we played. There were lots of winners but Duke was the big winner of three games. Saturday morning, the park provided a breakfast of Dunkin Donuts, juice, fruit and coffee. Pat moved the chapter meeting to 10:30 so we could enjoy the breakfast. After the meeting, Roger and Diane joined the chapter-welcome Roger and Diane!! We gathered in the building at 2:00 for ice cream. It was a welcome treat on a hot afternoon-thank you Pat and Jack!!. Texas Canasta was played after the ice cream. Soon it was time for our Italian potluck-wow we are good cooks as everything was delicious. The 50/50 was a great total of $70 so $35 was won by Ken Cody. The game of the night was 7 s. We had a good time spending time together.

Page 2 Sunday morning brought the normal street gathering. There were lots of hugs good bye, see you in June, Happy Mother s day and safe travels. Ellie gave out many puppy hugs and really enjoyed her first campout. Page 6 Bear tales as reported by Ramblin Bear After enjoying a great rally in Okeechobee, Mary and Larry took me south to visit Mary s sister and her husband in Hollywood, FL. They have a condo that sits between the inter-coastal waterway and the ocean. We went on to the Alabama Rally where we had a good time. We headed back to Florida in time for the May campout in Lake City. I enjoyed meeting Ellie and celebrating Larry s birthday. I am off next with Tressa and Don to head to Michigan. Though the view is pretty, they are on a high floor, so I was kind of nervous on the balcony. There is a boardwalk on the ocean side, including a Margaritaville complex. Mary held my hand tight down by the surf. We met a woman who says she and her group travel with a monkey the way I travel with RVers. Humans agreed they are a little crazy, but fun. Relaxing on the beach with sand toys is nice. Larry Cobb, the state director welcomed me personally. Mary and Larry joined the Mystic Order of the Good Moon. They are also certified Jackasses, though I am more dignified than that. The University Place campground was huge. Good thing I could drive around. I got to meet Ellie, she is very tiny. Larry caught me sneaking a lick of icing.
