Into the Wild A Canadian Adventure Sep 28 - Oct 6, 2019

Wild Beauty and Adventure in British Columbia Located on the Pacific North West coast of the North American continent in British Columbia, Canada, we find an area where the Pacific Ocean and rainforest intertwine to build the largest tract of temperate rainforest remaining on Earth. All life is shaped by the influence of the Pacific Ocean. Wild Salmon carry nutrients from the Sea deep inside the forest through a maze of inlets, fjords, streams and rivers. Stewards of this convergence of land and sea, home to spectacular and unique wildlife, are the tribes of the First Nations who have been living here since the beginning of time. By Mountain Bike, Boat and on foot we venture out to unravel the secrets of this fascinating land of mist and mystery.

Our journey at a glance Sep 28 - Oct 1 West Coast immersion North of Vancouver In the first part of this adventure we immerse in the Canadian West Coast Lifestyle. On high-end Rocky Mountain Bikes we test the legendary trails around North Van and Squamish guided by local MTB professionals (optional). We embark on scenic hikes and test the (white) waters, rafting down the wet and wild rivers. In the evenings we indulge in freshly prepared local delicacies, music and stories by the campfire in our exclusive use Squamish Chalet resort. Oct 1-4 Tofino, Vancouver Island - exploring Clayoquot Sound From Tofino we venture deeper into the magic beauty of Clayoquot Sound. On wilderness excursions by SUP board, Kayak, RIB or on foot we encounter Bears, Whales, Sea Lions, or Bald Eagles. We stay in stunning Beachfront Villas, enjoy local gourmet cuisine prepared by our private chef and a traditional First Nation Salmon BBQ by the fire on the Beach. Oct 4-6 North Vancouver Island and Great Bear Rainforest Port Hardy in the rugged North of Vancouver Island is the gateway to the spectacular wilderness of the Great Bear Rainforest. We will hike some of the Northernmost trails of the Island and set out on an interpretive boat excursion through First Nation Territory to view Grizzly Bears feed on Salmon, watch Orcas roam the inlets and fjords and learn about the fascinating culture of our indigenous hosts. Oct 6-9 (optional) 3 heavenly nights at Nimmo Bay Resort - living the Canadian dream.

Activity Log Mountainbike (optional) Experience Challenge Rating MTB heaven from Vancouver to Squamish roots, trunks, rocks and drops of the spectacular West Coast Trails moderate to demanding White Water Rafting Experience wet, wild and fun Rafting excursion through spectacular scenery Challenge Grade IV rapids and an optional cliff jump full day including lunch out in the wild Rating moderate Bear Watching Experience At low tide Black Bears roam the shores to snack on muscles and shells. Up North we will observe Grizzlies feeding on Salmon two separate excursions Wilderness Hiking Experience We undertake several hikes through lush rainforests and along secluded beaches Challenge varied terrain / weather dependent 2 separate excursions in different ecosystems Rating moderate Orca / Whale Watching Experience The cold and rich waters of the Pacific are a paradise for a multitude of species including Humpbacks, Grey Whales and Orcas 2 separate excursions in different ecosystems SUP / Sea Kayak Experience ln SUP Boards or by Kayak we roam the coastline for an even more intimate wildlife experience Challenge currents and possibly wind Half day Rating easy to moderate First Nation Culture Experience For millennia First Nations have been living in harmony with their home and today are stewards of these precious lands and waters. The see the wilderness through their eyes is most rewarding
