CANTERBURY SHAKER VILLAGE DIRECTOR TO MOVE TO MARTHA'S VINEYARD Canterbury Shaker Village has announced that Funi Burdick, the museum's Executive Director for the past nine years, will leave in December to assume the post of Executive Director and Chief
Executive Officer of the Martha's Vineyard Preservation Trust. In announcing her move to the new post, Burdick remarked that "during my tenure, great strides have been made as we move this important National Historic Landmark and museum toward a more sustainable future by connecting the Shakers' legacy to contemporary lifestyles and making their stories and collections relevant to all." Run or cheer on the runners Moulton Farm's 4th annual 5k & fun run November 5 On Saturday, November 5, runners of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the most unique 5k in New Hampshire: Moulton Farm's Fourth Annual 5k and Fun Run. This race winds around the farm's greenhouses and fields and ends with a run through the farm's corn maze. For younger children who want to run, but are not ready for a 5k run, there is a free fun run before the 5k race. A portion of the proceeds from the 5k will be donated to the New Hampshire Humane Society in Laconia. Moulton Farm hosts Craft Fair November 13 On Sunday, November 13, get some holiday shopping done by visiting Moulton Farm's craft fair from 9 am to 3 pm. Don't Miss the Holiday Parade November 26th at 4pm Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season in Downtown Laconia at the Annual Holiday Parade Saturday, November 26th. The parade begins at 4pm from Wyatt Park and will proceed down Main Street to Veterans Square for the tree lighting at dusk. Explore local retail shops. Enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many local restaurants. CHAIR YOGA & TAI CHI CHI KUNG CLASSES NOW OFFERED AT WESLEY WOODS Starting Thursdays, at Wesley Woods, Rick will be adding Short Form Tai Chi Chi Kung to the chair yoga class. Classes will be held in the Wesley Woods' Community Room from
2pm - 3pm. Tai Chi Chi Kung is a practice of learning a 14 movement form, as well as learning to use the energy in each posture. First class is free, punch passes are available $40.00 for 5 classes or $70.00 for 10 classes. Nearly 620,000 out-of-state visitors were projected to visit the Granite State during Labor Day Weekend and those visitors were anticipated to spend $88 million, a five percent increase over the year before. More than 65,000 people traveled through the state's Safety Rest Areas/Welcome and Information Centers during the holiday weekend; additionally, Hooksett Northbound welcomed 44,033 guests and Hooksett Southbound saw 41,815 visitors. DTTD Kicks Off Fall Tourism Season DTTD coordinated a press briefing at Gunstock Mountain Ski Resort on Tuesday, September 27. The event announced this fall's tourism forecast, the Division's fall campaign, and introduced the new "Leaf It To Kris" blog. The blog, written by DTTD Communications Manager Kris Neilsen, gives an insider's view of fall in New Hampshire. Feel free to

DTTD is projecting more than 9.5 million people will visit New Hampshire this fall, a five-percent increase from last year. Direct spending by those visitors is estimated to reach approximately $1.42 billion, six-percent higher than 2015.
