Gigatome Phantom One The biggest fully motorized heavy-duty sledge microtome for histology and material sciences
Gigatome Phantom One Specimen sizes up to max. 200 x 300 x 70 mm Section thickness range between 0 µm and 1.000 µm Uncountable special knifeholders and customized solutions available Free selectable declination angle between 0 and 80 or a fixed setting knifeholder is available as well
The Gigatome legitimates its own name by design! It is in all matters absolutely supersized and what physically can be sectioned only this machine sets the gold standard for. Siemens Touchscreen Masterclass Multilingual intuitive operation Anti-Vibration-Table on heavy-duty transport rolls with the possibility to decouple the microtome from the ground for the best in sectioning results Electronic high-precision handwheels Magnetic XY sample orientation and 360 rotation of the sample Highly precise three-phase current motors High class cross roller guides Low maintenance construction Control panel on a telescopic attachment can be chosen to be operated either on the left or the right side of the microtome 550 kg metal for the perfect stability Made in Germany
Touchscreen Technology The masterclass Siemens Touchscreen on the control panel comes along with two electronic handwheels and is additionally equipped with an emergency button. The control panel can be operated either on the left side or the right side of the microtome and the position can easily be changed for best ergonomics. The intuitive control panel offers all comfort of touch sensitive surfaces. Multilingual software that can be complemented with additional languages on demand. Password protection against unauthorized use. The Basic Screen Here the main work is done and in this overview you can change all relevant sectioning settings and you can skip to all important submenues.
The most common Submenues... Fast alignement of the specimen towards the knife is best done in this submenue by using the help of the electronic handwheels for a quick orientation. The object mode. Here you can set the front and the rear position of your sectioning window. Moreover the sectioning speed and retraction speed can be changed. The Trim-Mode for a fast pre sectioning operation.
Unlockable Finger Protection The new developed finger protection system offers a maximum of safety. Pulling away the protection by mistake is not possible anymore. You need two fingers to press simultaneously the spring-loaded T-mechansim to unlock the knife. Secure Knife Loading All Gigatome knifeholders can be loaded in a secure 12 o clock top position. In this state it is possible to change a knife without cut resistant gloves. Magnetic XY Orientation With the new developed magnetic XY orientation you can clamp the specimen steplessly at any position. This can help to stretch the lifetime of your knives dramatically. Along each axis you can orientate the specimen up to 5. You can rotate the specimen at 360. Knife Declination For Pull-Through Sections For all knife types there s a fixed knifeholder available. Moreover we offer for all knife and blade types declinated knifeholders. With those you can change the declination angle free between 0-80 to get pull-through sections which allow to cut even hardest material as the blade is less stressed.
Clamps & Plates The base clamp plate for specimens up to 80 x 100 mm of size. It is clamped magnetically directly on the XY orientation with no need of any screws at all. Just magnetic! You can choose from a large variety of prisms, round clamps, rectangular clamps, plug ons for big specimens, inlays in all kind of sizes and forms that can be attached to it. For paraffin embedded specimen there s a variety of metal stages available in several sizes that can be magnetically clamped directly on the XY orientation. Pull-down spring return clamps with extra high jaws (up to 45mm) are available in different sizes for specimens up to dimensions of 100 x 125 mm. Liquid Nitrogene solutions for rubber, tire or soft sections at the glasspoint are also available. Knives / Disposable Blades It is the right choice of knife that ensures the perfect section of your specimen! We have knifeholders available for nearly every ever manufactured knife in the world so there s no need to compromise at any stage. Nevertheless if you have any special inquiries we try to realize even those. Customization and special constructions are no foreign words to us. Just give us a call! Knifeholders For every type of knifeholder you can either choose between a fixed one or a declinable one. The following knifeholders we offer as standards: KH-P for parallel Polycut knives made of steel or tungsten carbide (up to 22cm) and for all available knifeangles KH-R for rotary microtome knives made of steel or tungsten carbide with a C - or D profile (up to 16 cm) KH-E for low-profile disposable blades (up to 18 cm) KH-S for usual standard knives with A, B, C or D profile (up to 30 cm) KH-CC/CD for knives with a special CC or CD-edge (up to 22 cm) If you like to use rarely seen disposable tungsten carbide blades or even less common knives we can realize even this!
The whole thing is of interest... Whole body sections Whole body section of a mouse from a paraffin block, multi acquisition picture from a microscope slide scan specimen up to 200 x 300 x 70 mm...but the detail should stay in focus! Sections of complete organs Cross section of a complete eye bulb, microscope picture from a slidescan of multiple acquisition positions Whole brain section from a paraffin block for a later 3D stacking of microscope pictures for an organ reconstruction 3D reconstruction of whole organs with any number of serial sections
Biological sections Human kidney Whole organ section from a paraffin block, stained Tri-PAS Human iliac crest Section from an iliac crest from a paraffin block, stained CD79a Human kidney Whole organ section from a paraffin block for a cancer research study, stained Vimentin Human mamma Whole organ section from a paraffin block for a cancer research study, stained Ki67 Human liver Whole organ section from a paraffin block for a cancer research study, stained HBVsAG Human prostate gland Section from a whole human prostate gland in one block - this saves time and money even in routine diagnostics (one block instead of 90, one section instead of 90, one microscopic slidescan for a save diagnosis) When oversized or even hard tissues should be sectioned in one piece from an oversized paraffin block, methyl-methacrylate or native material like wood or bone with perfect sectioning results...it is time for the... Gigatome Phantom One.
Tricky and hard Wood Native section of an adult grapevine wood with a declinated section angle of 45 Bones Bone section from a methyl-methacrylate block Movat Pentachrome stained * Thigh bone Complete in paraffin embedded femur, thigh bone, sectioned and stained Alcian Blue for a slidescan of multiple microscope pictures * Vertebrae Section through a complete vertebrae bone with muscles, stained Masson Goldner from a methyl-methacrylate embedding, microscopic slidescan from multiple pictures * Tooth Whole longitudinally tooth section in a Goldner Anilinblue stain for a microscopic slidescan of the whole section * Implants Shinbone (tibia lat.) section with implants in it, in a Goldner stain for a scan of the whole section area under the microscope - of course the implants moved out of the block within the section, but the 4µm section was perfect * When undersized microtomes are far beyond their limits, your research, your analysis and your target and goal is yet far away from being reached... then it is time for the next dimension of microtome... The bonding quality of the synthetic coating is of interest Automotive Corrosion analytics and weld seam testing on an automotive component with multiple pressed layers Coating layers Coating layer measurements from a component put into MMA for sectioning. Microscopic picture from quality control process to validate production requirements Every industrially manufactured component differs, as it comes from countless materials and substances forged together to one new thing. We know best that you are not sectioning paraffin like in hospitals! You need a microtome with much more capacity, more power, more flexibility and especially more volume for your very demanding preparations when other devices are simply limited.
