2015 MEDIA KIT
EDITORIAL CALENDAR JANUARY / Safety First Riding a motorcycle can be a dangerous hobby, and that s why we take safety very seriously so much so that we dedicate the January issue to that famous slogan, Safety First. From protective clothing to riding tips, if it protects motorcycle riders, it s here. FEBRUARY / Communications Traveling long distances can get boring without someone to talk to, so our February issue solves that problem by giving our readers the low down on the gear that lets them talk via Bluetooth, CB and everything in between. MARCH / Tires & Trailers Two things help Gold Wing riders travel the road in style: tires and trailers. With that in mind, our March issue assembles a breakdown of what you want and don t want in both categories, plus offerings from various manufacturers. APRIL / Go North Wing World doesn t just cover the United States, it also details our friends to the north, Canada. Our Go North issue takes readers north of the border (and maybe a little bit of the upper U.S., too), to show them the sights and sounds that they need to experience for themselves. MAY / How-To Sometimes, it s best to take things on yourself, from basic maintenance to customization projects. In the How-To Issue, we walk readers through how to accomplish tasks of all kinds, complete with stepby-step photos to document the process. JUNE / Show N Shine It s summertime, so take the cover off the Wing and start polishing up your chrome. The June issue covers not only the basics of cleaning and detailing your ride, but also some of the cool new products to bolt on for the next show. JULY / On 3/4 No one can deny that trikes are popular, and our On 3/4 issue takes on every Winger that s riding On 3 wheels. But we also know that our riders have other hobbies, like hot rods and the like. That s where the 4 comes in four wheels and up are welcome in our special Readers Rides section for July. AUGUST / Old School Our most popular issue theme of 2014 is back in August 2015, where old school is cool again. This covers any Gold Wing from the GL1200s and older, with lots of fun memories of times gone by as well. Get onboard for August, because it s going to be a big one! SEPTEMBER / Adventure Hitting the open road is about experiencing things you never have before. It s all about the adventure, which we celebrate in our September issue with travel tips, a special Road Trips section and lots of tales from exotic locales across the world. OCTOBER / Ladies First Whoever said that women don t ride motorcycles has obviously never been to a GWRRA event, where the women are just as (if not more) prominent than their spouses. October is all about honoring the female riders (and co-riders) and all the good they do for the Association and riding community at large. NOVEMBER / International Our readers come from all over the world, and in November we show off all of their hard work and dedication to riding and Gold Wings. From Israel to Australia to Europe and everywhere in between, Wing World goes International in November. DECEMBER / Holiday Gift Guide With the holidays approaching, there s no better time to find the perfect gift for your partner than the Wing World Holiday Gift Guide issue, where we show off all of the new products that you ll want wrapped up for you this year. Plus, mammoth Wing Ding 37 coverage from Huntsville, Alabama! 001
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR I n 2014, Wing World magazine stepped into a new era with a fresh new design, upgraded photography and editorial content that went above and beyond what the publication had seen before. And in 2015, we have even more planned. It s an exciting time to read Wing World, and an even better time to get onboard. Between our substantially upgraded and redesigned website, to the brand-new ipad app, we re kicking things up a notch for sure. Then there s what we re working on for 2015: apps for both the Kindle and Android devices, an upgrade for On 3 and exclusive coverage that you ll only find in our pages. If Wing World 2014 was all about taking the magazine to another level, then 2015 is about going to the future and beyond. I truly think that we re doing good things here at Wing World. It s a publication with over 35 years of history, with a solid Association standing behind it and a positive outlook for the future. There s never been a better time to get in Wing World than right now. Seize the opportunity while you can, because it s going to be one crazy ride and you won t want to miss a second. TESTIMONIALS ere at the Harrison CVB, we pride ourselves in H tthe beautiful scenery that we have the pleasure of calling home here in the Ozark Mountains. For the past several years, most of our marketing efforts have been geared toward encouraging motorcyclists to come and Ride the Ozarks. Wing World magazine continues to be a leader in our marketing efforts in attracting riders to our area. We seek the riders and they send the riders. We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Wing World magazine! MATT W. BELL Executive Director / Harrison CVB... ing World magazine has significantly increased W Trike On America s sale of the Richland Roadster motorcycle trike conversion kit. The magazine has helped us connect with customers who really want our trike kit, allowing us to focus more time on meeting their needs and preferences rather than developing other marketing strategies. The sales and creative staff are dedicated professionals committed to making the advertising process easy for a small, non-techie business owner. They have made sure my vision of Trike On America comes across on the pages of Wing World. I have found Wing World magazine to be an affordable and valuable tool in growing Trike On America s motorcycle trike conversion kit brand. Thanks, Wing World, for putting us in the hands of consumers who really respond to our advertising. We get a great return on this investment. JOHNNY RAY RICHLAND Trike On America We were connected with Wing World several years back. We became GWRRA Members and started advertising with them. The advertising has brought us several new customers even better, great new friends. Since we ve been in the Gold Book, we ve had the opportunity to help out a couple of downed riders. Plus, we just had a few people to stop in and say hello while riding the Smoky Mountains. I love the decency and respect the magazine shows. In the world we live in now, that s hard to find! Along with it comes the super nice Members, and best of all, the staff at Wing World. They know what they re doing. Placing an ad with any business can be difficult. It s not easy to put everyone s ads in and get everyone noticed equally. RANDY & KIM SCHULTZ Smoky Mountain Getaway Cabin... We are very satisfied with our advertising efforts in Wing World. The magazine has been an important partner in our efforts to successfully market Honda colormatch products to such a targeted audience. At Wing Ding, we were impressed with the number of people visiting our booth because they had seen Vega in the magazine. JEANNE DEMUND Vice President / Vega Helmet SALES@ 004
