Mary Rick Larry Gerry John Dave Safety Officer Dave's Safety Tip INDEPENDENT NEWS By Dave Bike Maintenance It s ge ng near the end of summer, and as you all know we are a riding club. On any giving weekend ride we will cover on the average of 175 and 200 miles. It s been 4 or 5 months since the riding season got into full swing and now is the me to take a close look at your bike. As you all know our roads here in southern California are not in the best shape, which puts a lot of wear and tear on the bike. It s me do a good go over on the bike and check all bolts and screws for proper torque. Running boards, foot peg s, brake pedal, shi er, etc. Let s not forget the drive belt. To lose a drive belt can cause wear and tear on belt and sprocket and to ght and you may snap the belt when you hit one of our way too many pot holes in so. California, so proper adjustment is important. Always carry a few tools on your bike. Screw drivers, adjustable wrench, some wire, zip es, tape, small flash light, etc. Keep the sunny side up and ride safe.

Answer: 1885 Today s Ride By Rick Chop Shop Bar & Grill Jodi and I went to dinner one night and decided to see what this place was all about. It s a pre y cool Bar & Grill with a biker atmosphere. So we thought we could make a ride a er one of our mee ngs. Burgers are good and this place has live entertainment in the evenings during the weekends. There is plenty of parking for our bikes and they are real accommoda ng. For those who like to play pool, or darts than you wont be bored. I know it s only in Simi Valley but hopefully I can make a nice ride out of it. Now let s enjoy our day and ride! Crystal Lake Last Month s Rides Hollister Our first ride of the month was an overnighter to Hollister Independence Rally. Our overnight trips are always the best and Hollister wasn t any different. There were tons of vendors on the streets of Downtown Hollister to get your T- shirts and bike parts. There were 1000 s of beau ful bikes that were parked in the middle of the streets of Hollister to look at while walking though the venders. We also took a beau ful and challenging mountain roads on our way up to the redwoods. When we got back it was party me! Lot s of dancing and booty shaking by the pool. What a great overnight trip! Our second ride went to Pirates Bar & Grill. What a beau ful day to ride down PCH to Oxnard. Ocean Views, Ocean air. This ride was a simple but some mes simple are the best rides and this one was an example of a nice, relaxing, beau ful ride. Always a favorite. Our third ride went to a secluded place along the ocean called Jalama Beach. This place is famous for their burgers. Let me tell you this burger is well worth the ride. Beau ful back roads leading us into the top of a mountain overlooking the spectacular view of the ocean as we rode down to Jalama Beach. Our fourth ride of the month was to Crystal Lake. This ride required us taking a freeway to get to where we needed to begin this beau ful ride, but as always it was well worth it. Crystal Lake is a small camp ground with a cool li le store/grill in the woods of the Azusa mountains above Glendora. If you like roads that are windy than you would of loved this ride. Once we arrived at Crystal Lake we had lunch outside overlooking the scenic mountains that towered over us. Once again a beau ful ride with great people! Till next months rides, ride safe!
