Crossview The fun never ends at Crossview! This high-energy site is Winkler Bible Camp s largest. Here you will find that a variety of ages can attend, and often at the same time. At Crossview, campers can make lots of new friends with their counselors and cabinmates, take part in exciting chapel times, and enjoy lots of thrilling activities.
Day Camp $95/Grades K-2 July 7 & 8, July 21 & 22, Aug 4 & 5, Aug 18 & 19 This camp is perfect for the young, first-time camper. From 9:00am to 6:00pm the campers can take part in lots of camp activities, go home for night, and then come back the next day for more activities! Campers will also get to know their counselors really well, with a staff to camper ratio of 1:3. Little Buddies $115/Grades 1-3 July 4-5, July 7-8, Aug 1-2, Aug 4-5 This camp is great for the camper willing to take the step of spending a night away. In this 2-day camp, campers get to experience many of the activities, and take part in an exciting evening chapel. Paintball - Boys Only $350/Grades 7-9 July 4-8, July 18-22, Aug 1-5, Aug 15-19 Guys, get ready for the ultimate camp experience! In this camp, not only do you get to do everything that Intermediate camp offers, you also get to paintball every day! This camp fills up fast, so sign up early to get a spot! New for 2016! Horsemanship - Girls Only $350/Grades 7-9 July 11-15, July 25-29 August 8-12, August 22-26 This NEW camp is offered to Intermediate GIRLS ONLY! Riders of all experience are invited to come and enjoy the opportunity to ride everyday as well as improve your knowledge of horses. You will have the chance to deepen your relationship with God while taking part in lessons, trail rides, games and theory. Not only will you spend lots of time at the horse barn, you also get to participate in a multitude of the other activities our Intermediate camp has to offer. Spots are limited to 20 girls per session so make sure you register early!
Leadership Development Program Do you have a desire to grow in your faith? Do you want to learn to be a godly leader? Then LDP is the place for you! In this two-week training program you will learn more about making your faith your own as well as how to be a great camp counselor. This program is required for all potential staff, but you are not required to stay on as staff. You will have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with your group as you strengthen your faith together. Sessions are limited to 24 students, so be sure to get your application in early. Teepee Village Imagine sleeping in a teepee, eating food that s cooked over a fire, and playing creative bush games. Now imagine doing that in a group of only 32 campers and your counselors. That s Teepee Village! You get to do lots of great activities right at TPV, and also get to visit Crossview for a few activities that they offer there! This is a popular site, so be sure to sign up early to get a spot!
Junior $260/Grades 3-6 July 11-15, July 25-29, Aug 8-12 (Boys only), Aug 22-26 Enjoy five adventure-packed days in the bush filled with exciting camp activities. The smaller setting helps you get to know everyone quickly, and get right to the essence of a great camp experience with your new friends and counselors. Intermediate $290/Grades 7-9 July 4-8, July 18-22, Aug 1-5, Aug 15-19 This camp offers an excellent combination of activties (including the option of paintball), and time to make connections with your new friends and counselors. You ll also enjoy night games and sitting around a camp fire. QUESTIONS? WE HAVE ANSWERS! I sent in my child s camp registration and payment. How soon should I know if they are accepted or not? We do our best to send out an email or mail acceptance package within 10 business days of receiving the application. If you do not receive an acceptance package within this time, please contact the camp. If your child is not accepted because the camp you have chosen is full, we will call you within 1-2 business days of receiving the application and try to arrange an alternate date that would work for you. Winkler Bible Camp will not hold your child s spot without registration and either deposit, full payment, or confirmation of alternate funding. Can my child still donate their canteen item(s)? Yes. In 2016 we will again be partnering with Children s Camps International. CCI is an evangelical, non-denominational organization that has been promoting the dynamic work of children s camping ministry all over the globe. While at camp, children and staff are entitled to two canteen items each day. Staff and children have the opportunity to donate 1 or both of their canteen items daily to help send children in other countries to camp. Each canteen item has a value of 75. Every $5 donated is enough to send one child to camp!
What is Winkler Bible Camp s camper homesick policy? Our counselors are trained to deal with homesick campers, and are usually able to distract them from being homesick. If this does not work, the child may be allowed to call home in an attempt for the parent to encourage the child to stay. Typically the camper is not allowed to call home, but they will be allowed in situations in which the camper is very homesick. If this does not help and the parent and camper agree that the camper should go home, this will be allowed. However, the camper will not be able to return to camp that week, nor will any refund be given. Does Winkler Bible Camp have a camp store? Yes, our Camp Store sells many items, such as t-shirts, hoodies, jewelry, flashlights, water bottles, etc. The store will be open at registration and pick-up only. Please do not send money with your child. We accept cash, credit card and debit only, no cheques. I can t afford to send my child to camp. What are my options? Financial assistance is available through the Sunshine Fund managed by Manitoba Camping Association at 204-784-1130 or www.mbcamping.ca. Some funding assistance may also be available through Winkler Bible Camp if you are not approved through the Sunshine Fund. Are pets allowed on site? No, for the health and safety of our petting zoo, as well as your animals, no pets are allowed on site. My child has special needs. Is he/she able to attend camp? Yes, there are a limited number of spots available for campers with physical and/or mental disabilities in which Winkler Bible Camp could provide a one-on-one counselor for your child s stay at camp. Please contact the camp office to ensure that our facilities meet your child s needs. What is Winkler Bible Camp s cabin mate policy? Every effort is made to honour up to two cabinmate requests per camper when they are within one grade year of each other and registering for the same camp session. Both friends MUST request each other, a maximum of three friends per cabin may be granted.
