UNWIND in a natural oasis THE SETTING OF HAINA KALAHARI LODGE IS CLASSICALLY AFRICAN, RELAXED AND INFORMAL. The main lodge consists of a lounge, dining room and bar area housed beneath a pitched thatch and timber structure. A swimming pool, sun deck, well-appointed bar and an expansive boma eating area are among the facilities available to visitors. The sundeck is a popular spot for social activities and for exchanging accounts of the various sightings of birds and animals seen during the day. At Haina, time may be spent absorbing the sun, enjoying panoramic views and sampling the delectable fare provided by the resident chef.

SOLAR-POWERED TENTS, STRATEGICALLY PLACED TO ENSURE GUESTS PRIVACY EXPERIENCE rustic luxury The Lodge accommodates up to 20 guests in solar-powered tents, strategically placed to ensure guests privacy at all times. The 6 Luxury Tents, sheltered by the uniquely structured slatted canopy, comprises of a bed with mosquito net, en-suite facilities with indoor and outdoor showers, and gas tea/coffee making facilities. Families can make use of our Family Tent, made up of two Luxury Tents with inter-leading decks. Alternatively upgrade to one of our 3 Superior Tents with large decks and full bathrooms. The Superior Tents are built beneath a thatched canopy, which provides shade and keeps the tents cool in the hot Kalahari sun. All units are furnished in subtle earth tones and dark woods in a contemporary African theme.

EXPERIENCE earthy natural bliss
THIS DESERT AREA IS WELL-KNOWN FOR SIGHTINGS OF THE KALAHARI LION Haina Kalahari Lodge prides itself in its flexibility in allowing guests the opportunity to choose how they would like to spend their day with one of the many activities on offer. This desert area is well-known for sightings of the Kalahari Lion, with occasional sightings of leopard and cheetah or perhaps the rare opportunity of spotting the elusive Brown Hyena that frequents the area. Regular sightings of antelope species such as Oryx, Blue Wildebeest, Eland and not to mention the smaller mammals like the black-backed jackal or ground squirrel to name a few. The area allows for excellent bird watching, with over 250 bird species positively identified - both migrating and residential species. On a clear night, the Kalahari sky comes alive with brilliant stars and crystal clear views of the Milky Way. For the more adventurous, we also offer guided walks as well as quad bike safaris. GLIMPSE the milky way A TRUE AND WILD EXPERIENCE UNDER THE KALAHARI SKY Brakah Campsite is situated just 1.5 km s from Haina Kalahari Lodge s main gate. The 5 sites are set beneath the shade of thorn trees, affording guests a true and wild experience under the Kalahari sky. No electrical points are available to campers. The campsite facilities include an ablution block with a double set of flush toilets, showers with cold running water and a communal sink for washing dishes. The Kalahari water is rich in minerals, salty to taste and as such not suitable for drinking. Drinks, wood and a braai (barbeque) pack may be purchased from the main lodge prior to arrival.
