Rotary Charities of Holland, MI Board of Directors Meeting, Feb. 19, 2009 Raleigh Woods 10:45 AM Board Members Present: Vince Bush, Steve Nyland, Donna Bogle, Bill Hubbard, Joe Baumann, Lori Varner, Doug Fauble, Steve Baumann, Deb VanderJagt, Gerry Hunsburger Absent Mari Martin, Ed Stielstra, Donna Cornwell, Mike Moraw Guests: Angie Barksdale, Richard Coffill, Bill Church, Mike Dolinsky Call to Order Vince Bush called the meeting to order at 10:45. I. Approval was given to the minutes of the January 15, 2009 meeting. II. The January financial reports were reviewed and accepted. The Playground project will need approximately $5,438 to fulfill the obligation to the City of Holland by June 30, 2009. Discussion revealed that there are some unmarked donations which could be applied to this remaining debt. The Board does not want to continue asking the membership for more monies. Tom Stanley was unable to attend and report on the Fun Run/Walk event. Meeting was adjourned at 11:10. Respectfully submitted by: Donna Bogle, Secretary

Rotary Club of Holland, MI Board of Directors Meeting February 19, 2009 at Raleigh Woods Board Members Present: Vince Bush, Steve Nyland, Donna Bogle, Bill Hubbard, Deb VanderJagt, Joe Baumann. Lori Varner, Doug Fauble, Steve Baumann, Ed Stielstra, Gerry Hunsburger, Doug Fauble, Mike Moraw Absent: Mari Martin, Donna Cornwell Guests: Angie Barksdale, Jim Meier, Mike Dolinsky, Bill Church, Dick Coffill Chairperson: Vince Bush Call to Order: Meeting convened at 11:10 AM Business of the Club: I. The minutes for the Jan. 15, 2009, meeting were corrected and approved. (Correction in II to read November and December, not October.) II. The Financial Report for January 2009 was accepted. Discussion: Outstanding dues for Dillenbeck, Galat, Hoekstra, Koeze, Luckey, Misovich, Russell, Stam and Vos. (Haveman and Spelde have yet to resign, but have not paid dues). It was recommended that the next invoices be e-mailed to save postage fees. Past due invoices are ready to be hand delivered or mailed today. III. Doug Fauble will attend PETS. The club budget will then be presented. It is rumored that the District dues may increase. The discussion indicated that our Board was not in favor of raising dues this year. John Gronberg will be asked to represent our views to the District. IV. Committee Reports: Vocations@Work will initiate the recitation of the 4-Way Test at the end of each meeting, beginning February 26, 2009. V. Joe Haveman s resignation was accepted with regret. He spoke with both Bush and Barksdale by telephone.

VI. Dick Coffill has agreed to chair the temporary Polio Plus Committee for two more years. The club will request $1000 for this year, by donation. VII. Honorary Member Criteria were presented by Deb VanderJagt. Two persons have been proposed, Pete Hoekstra and Joe Haveman, for the committee to review. VIII. Directory Update: Jim Meier is organizing the new Directory. Photos of each member will be taken at meetings over the next few weeks by Robert Ortman. The cost is estimated between $400 and $600. Late June is the target date for publication and distribution. IX. Mari Martin proposed that our club award itself the Presidential Citation privately. We exceed all criteria but lack membership growth because of resignations. The official deadline is March 30. The meeting was adjourned at 11:57. Next meeting will be March 19. Respectfully submitted by Donna Bogle, Secretary
