Safari starts in Johannesburg, South Africa Private charter flight to Kulala Wilderness Reserve stop off en-route in Windhoek to clear customs and immigration. Kulala Wilderness Reserve Little Kulala Lodge 2 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide & private vehicle Sossusvlei Namib-Naukluft National Park One of the oldest, driest and most pristine areas on Earth, the Namib Desert is a world of vast spaces, endless horizons, dramatic desert-scapes and jagged mountain heights. Known as The Living Desert, the dunes of the Namib abound with desert-adapted beetles, spiders, lizards, gerbils, golden moles and other creatures, all leaving their tell-tale tracks in the fine sand. The plains and dry watercourses are home to oryx, springbok, plains zebra, kudu, ostrich and giraffe. The fascinating desert-adapted wildlife, combined with the endless space, utter tranquility and extraordinary light, make this one of Africa s most compelling wilderness regions. Sossusvlei, located in the red dunes of the Namib, is a pan that has formed where the natural course of the ephemeral Tsauchab River is blocked by the mass of sand that originally came up from the south. This sand-sea stretches for 400km (240 miles) in a narrow band about 100km (60 miles) wide between the icy cold Atlantic Ocean to the west and the escarpment to the east. The cold Benguela current flowing up along the coast ensures that there is no rain, hence the dunes reach the sea in one of the most inhospitable areas of the world. The path of the Tsauchab is flanked by some of the tallest dunes in the world, some of which rise majestically to over 1000ft above the surrounding plains, before ending as a blind river at a salt-encrusted pan named Sossusvlei. This is one of a number of spectacular pans in the area that are surrounded by dunes and often have their surfaces studded by the ghostly figures of 500-year old dead Camelthorn trees. The Kulala Concession on which the lodge is situated encompasses an area of over 80 000 acres of remote desert landscape to the east of (and with private entrance to) the famous Sossusvlei area of the National Park. Activities include morning visits to the massive dunes and salt pans at Sossusvlei, nature walks and nature drives during which you can enjoy the spectacular desert scenery and learn more about the sparse, but wonderfully adapted fauna and flora of the area. Activities at extra cost include hot air balloon trips over the concession (weather dependent), horse-riding and quad-bike rides in the desert. If you are lucky enough to visit when the moon is not too bright, then you will witness spectacular night skies. Page 3

Little Kulala is a luxurious desert retreat situated in the private 27 000-hectare (67 000-acre) Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Accommodation consists of 11 climate-controlled, thatched "kulalas" (the word means 'to sleep') which merge impeccably into the desert landscape, each with private plunge pool, both indoor and outdoor showers and a rooftop star bed for romantic star gazing. An elegant entertainment area includes a library, wine cellar, craft boutique, lounge and dining areas. Activities include game drives as well as a walk to Dead Vlei and the Sesriem Canyon. Little Kulala Lodge Website Private charter flight to the Skeleton Coast. Skeleton Coast Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp 2 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide & private vehicle Skeleton Coast This treacherous coast - a foggy region with rocky and sandy coastal shallows has long been a graveyard for unwary ships and their crews, hence it s forbidding name. Early Portuguese sailors called it As Areias do Inferno (The Sands of Hell), as once a ship washed ashore, the fate of the crew was sealed. This protected area stretches from Sandwich Harbour, south of Swakopmund, to the Kunene River, taking in around 2 million hectares of dunes and gravel plains to form one of the most inhospitable but hauntingly beautiful places on the planet. Page 4

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is scenically located in a broad valley at the confluence of two tributaries of the dry Hoanib River in the northern part of the private Palmwag Concession. Its location thus straddles the Palmwag area and the iconic Skeleton Coast National Park, in one of the most remote areas of the Kaokoveld.!The camp consists of seven large tents and one family unit, each comprising stylish en-suite bedrooms with shaded outdoor decks. Flanked to the east and west by rugged hills, the camp looks out over stunning, starkly beautiful scenery and offers guests all the luxuries and amenities for an unforgettable stay. Activities include drives in search of desert elephants and other wildlife in the riverbed, nature walks, and a day-trip to the coast that will reveal the roaring dune, an oasis and a Cape fur seal colony. Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp Website Private charter flight to Kaokoveld. Marienfluss Conservancy, Kaokoveld Serra Cafema Camp 2 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide & private vehicle Marienfluss Conservancy This protected conservation area is the result of a partnership between the local indigenous inhabitants and private enterprise to ensure sustainability of the ecosystem and its wildlife in addition to empowering the people. The area is a mammoth 600 000 acres in extent and is dominated by soft sands, vast, Page 5

ancient valleys that in good years have a covering of grass, fold mountains (metamorphic) and granite inselbergs. Wildlife is sparse but the sheer feeling of isolation and the unique birdlife and cultural possibilities make this a destination to be remembered. Serra Cafema Camp Undoubtedly one of the most remote camps in southern Africa, Serra Cafema is located in the extreme north-west of Namibia on the banks of the Kunene River in the Hartmann's Valley. Serra Cafema is an intimate, peaceful camp inspired by the area s Himba people, with a unique mix of rustic and luxury elements. Accommodation consists of eight en-suite riverside wood, canvas and thatched villas on spacious, elevated decks blended smoothly into the picturesque surroundings. The main area, comprises indoor and outdoor dining areas, a sunken lounge, library, curio shop and a swimming pool. Activities include nature walks, birding (there are a number of very rare species here because of the unique habitat in the desert), boating on the river and carefully guided drives and quad-bike excursions that tread lightly on the dunes. A big highlight of this area is the possibility of seeing the nomadic Himba people (if they are in the area), arguably the last remaining truly nomadic people left in southern Africa. Guests would then have the opportunity to learn about their lifestyle and traditions. Okavango Delta Chief s Camp 3 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide Okavango Delta A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels with papyrus-fringed banks and overgrown islands teeming with wildlife, Botswana s Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel spread over the thirstlands and heart of the Kalahari Desert. The core protected area of the Okavango is the 1 million acre Moremi Game Reserve, the first nature reserve proclaimed by an African tribe on their own land and named in honour of one of the early chiefs. The central part of the Reserve is dominated by the 250 000 acre Chief s Island which used to be the sacred hunting ground of the tribal chiefs. Explore the Okavango Delta by mokoro (dug-out canoe), motorised boat, on foot or on game drive. Named after Chief Moremi, Sanctuary Chief s Camp is located in the world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Chief s Island is one of the many islands created by the seasonal flood waters of the Okavango Delta and is well-known for the finest game viewing in Southern Africa. The ten luxury bush pavilions are nestled in a jackalberry and sausage tree woodland, each boasting their own private dining area, outside seating area, plunge pool, and beautiful bathrooms which offer a spacious outdoor shower and a large bath tub. The main area houses a bar area, orientation room, fitness centre, swimming pool, sitting room, curio shop, library, reception and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Chief s Camp Website Page 7

Private charter flight to Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park Chobe Chilwero Lodge 2 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide & private vehicle Chobe National Park This National Park was proclaimed in 1967 and its 2,75 million acres is home to arguably the largest single elephant population in Africa (65 000) along with a host of other herbivores and carnivores. The habitat is mostly broad-leaved woodland with most of the game concentrating along the Chobe River itself a tributary of the Zambezi in the north of the park. This river forms the international boundary with Namibia and its confluence with the Zambezi a few miles downstream of the town of Kasane is unique in being the meeting point of 4 countries namely Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Game-viewing activities include game drives, boat trips and fishing (the latter in Namibian waters). Chobe Chilwero Lodge Sitting above the Chobe River, this small boutique lodge comprises just 15 spacious chalets and offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and floodplains. Each chalet features a private garden with a hammock as well as en-suite facilities that include a bath, indoor and outdoor shower. The public areas offer extensive indoor and outdoor dining areas, a library with satellite television, a curio shop, swimming pool and spa. Chobe Chilwero Lodge Website Page 8

Private charter flight to Livingstone, Zambia followed by a road transfer to the lodge. Bordering Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Livingstone Sussi & Chuma Lodge 1 Night Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide & private vehicle Livingstone and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park The town of Livingstone has become Zambia's tourist capital. It is a bustling town of 200 000 people and is the only place in the country that has maintained its name given by the British when the country was a colony, all other names having been changed to local African names since independence. This is testament to the reverence with which the local people still hold the name of David Livingstone, the famous missionary / doctor / explorer who spent a lot of time in the area and was the first European to see the Falls, naming them in honour of Queen Victoria. Most visitors are drawn to the historic town for Victoria Falls, but the town has attractions of its own, most notably an interesting colonial history combined with a very African ambience. The Livingstone Museum, housing a collection of David Livingstone memorabilia including letters, clothing, and medicine box, is the oldest museum in Zambia. Highlights also include Tonga ritual artifacts, a life-size model African village, and displays depicting the transition to independence. There are a number of adventure sports in and around Livingstone and the Falls and river cruises on the Zambezi. Livingstone is situated a short distance from the Victoria Falls, the largest single waterfall in the world by volume in peak flood and a member of the old Seven Natural Wonders of the World (the new Seven Wonders excludes this waterfall). Described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800 s as Mosi-oaTunya meaning The smoke that thunders Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight on the Zambezi River, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe. Columns of spray can be seen from many miles away as 750 000 tons of water plummet over the edge every minute at the height of the flood season. The Falls are 1 mile (1,5km) wide and average 330 feet (100m) high. The wide basalt cliff, over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a wide placid river to a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges. Facing the Falls is another sheer wall of basalt, rising to the same height and capped by mistsoaked rain forest. A path along the edge of the forest provides the visitor who is prepared to brave the tremendous spray with an unparalleled series of views of the Falls.!One special vantage point is across the Knife-Edge Bridge where visitors can have the finest view of the Eastern Cataract and the Main Falls as well as the Boiling Pot where the river turns and heads down the Batoka Gorge. Other vantage points include the Falls Bridge and the Lookout Tree that commands a panoramic view across the Main Falls. Mosi-oa-Tunya NP, a protected area of 16,500 acres literally abuts the town and is home to a wide diversity of animals including the country s only white rhino but lacks predators. Page 9

Sussi & Chuma Lodge This beautiful lodge comprises 12 luxury tree-houses that are built into the canopy of majestic ebony trees lining the river bank, 12 km s upstream of the Victoria Falls. The air-conditioned rooms all with their own private viewing deck boast superb views over the white waters of the Zambezi. The main lodge commands prime position overlooking a magnificent stretch of rapids and comprises a lounge, bar, dining room, pool, spa, and numerous decks overlooking the river. Sussi & Chuma Lodge Website Road transfer to Livingstone International Airport, followed by private charter flight to O.R.
