It is my privilege to invite you to attend the PCEA National Convention in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from April 25th through April 29th and it will be a pleasure to see you there. The Charlotte Chapter is the host Chapter for this years events and thanks to the hard work by the Convention Committee and the Chairman, Duff Regan, I am positive that there will be plenty of entertainment, networking, and social interaction for everyone. The schedule is full of seminars/workshops, excursions, as well as plenty of time for relaxing, as PCEA members do best. There will be an afternoon of golf to benefit the Ted G. Wilson Scholarship Foundation that I am sure will create new memories and stories to share at the Past President s Reception, National President s Ball, and Awards Dinner and for many years to come. And who knows, we may even have some real entertainment in the Hospitality Suite this year! I am excited to invite all members of Professional Construction Estimators and their guests to our annual convention that will be held.drum roll please...at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort! We will meet Wednesday, April 25th Sunday, April 29th. I hope everyone is planning to attend as we will have a great time with all of the events that our convention Chair, Duff Regan, and the Charlotte crew have been hard at work preparing for us. We will enjoy the kickoff party on Thursday, Seminars and Golf at Arcadian Shores on Friday, Brookgreen Gardens tour, followed by the Past President s Reception and President s Ball, featuring DJ the DJ, on Friday night. Saturday we will enjoy the Breakfast meeting and the awards dinner that night, with keynote speaker Charles D. Regan, Jr. Last but not least, we will enjoy our exciting hospitality suite! It will be broken down into the different offices and led by members that have served in the respective office. David Jacobs has been a full time professional entertainer for the past 20 years. He has performed for audiences from Florida to the Carolina Coast at some of the top venues and clubs in the area. David learned his craft while working with some of the best entertainers in the industry like Joe Walsh, Mickey Dolanz, Crystal Gayle, Fabian and the Legendary Wolfman Jack. It was during his years as house DJ at Wolfman Jack s Rock and Roll Palace that the Wolfman named David the the best live disc jockey on the planet. Brookgreen Gardens Tour In 1931, Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington founded Brookgreen Gardens, a non-profit garden museum, to preserve the native flora and fauna and display objects of art within that natural setting. Today, Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark with the most significant collection of figurative sculpture in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world and has the only zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums on the coast of the Carolinas. Cost of the tour is $40 per person. Convention Kick Off Party Join us Thursday for a casual get together as we prepare to kick off yet another great convention in Myrtle Beach! Enjoy a refreshing beverage, light snack and relaxing music as you mingle with old friends and meet new acquaintances. This program has proven to be very helpful for incoming officers to familiarize themselves with the duties and responsibilities that come with each office. Each attendee will receive the Officer Orientation Manual on CD to take with them.

Keynote Speaker Charles Regan Vice President National Geographic Maps Charles Regan is Vice President and General Manager of National Geographic Maps. Mr. Regan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of National Geographic Maps and its presence in existing markets, such as the outdoor retail industry and the reference and education arena, as well as through new digital and print products and a broad, global distribution. Regan also leads the development of products and applications for the digital marketplace and integration of content with mapping interfaces across multiple platforms. Mr. Regan has extensive experience with mapping, education, and publishing markets. Prior to joining National Geographic in 2007 as Vice President of Digital Maps, Regan spent 10 years with Maps.com, where he was responsible for business development, creative strategic partnerships and leading the business strategy development team. Regan has also worked for the National Geographic Society previously, serving its education programs as Geographic Education Program Analyst; Manager, Canadian Education Initiative; and Manager, Special Outreach Programs. Regan is also the son of PCEA National Convention Chair, Duff Regan with the Charlotte Chapter. Ned McNaughton, McNaughton & Associates, PLLC Mr. McNaughton is the founding attorney of the firm McNaughton & Associates, PLLC. He is admitted to practice law in both North Carolina and Georgia. Ned graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he joined the Lamar Society of International Law and served on the Journal of National Security Law staff. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Georgia Bar Association. He is an active member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Law Section and NCBA Litigation Section, the American Subcontractors Association of the Carolinas, the Associated Builders and Contractors, the North Carolina Utility Contractors Association, and the Carolinas Historic Aviation Commission. He has represented clients in both state and federal courts in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia (pro hac vice) and South Carolina (pro hac vice), including oral argument before the Eleventh Circuit.
