Duration: 2.5 hours. Difficulty: Easy

During this circuit we will visit Ahu Akivi, it is one of the few platforms where the moais seem to look towards the sea, with 7 moais in the present it is said that they represent the 7 explorers sent by King Hotu to Matu a before his trip colonizer. After this visit we will continue to Puna Pau, a small crater of red scoria in which the Pukao, hats or crowns of the moais were made. Since the cave of te pahu is no longer visited due to the poor state of the road (we passed over the lava cavities and that is now in danger of collapse), and now we visit a platform very different from the others on the Island, because it is a single moai erect, but with the particularity that has 20 fingers: Ahu Huri to Urenga. It is also perfectly aligned to the winter solstice, and it is at this point that people meet at the right moment. Transfer to a local restaurant for dinner. Tuesday September 3 EASTER ISLAND (B, L, D) DESCRIPTION FULL DAY Hours: From 09:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. approx. Duration: 7 hours Box Lunch: It is a lunch that is served in the Rano Raraku quinchos. Difficulty: Easy, except the Rano Raraku volcano which is of moderate difficulty Starting the tour from your hotel in the town of Hanga Roa, the tour will take you to the south-east and northeast coast of the island to visit the first platform called Ahu Akahanga, formed by 4 platforms, 12 Moai, 8 pukao. From there it is possible to appreciate one of the best-preserved villages on the island. Continuing towards Rano Raraku volcanic crater formed from consolidated volcanic ash, Rano Raraku is a visual record of moai design vocabulary and technological innovation, where 397 moai remain. Lunch in the picnic area on the slopes of this volcano. We continue with the magnificent platform called Ahu tongariki, the most amazing ahu on the island, with 15 huge moai. We continue our way to Ahu Te Pito Kura, it has the largest statue standing on an Ahu, the moai

PARO, of 10 mts. And 85 tons with a PUKAO of 11.5 tons. It is no longer standing, but we can see its great size despite being split into three parts. It is believed that it was the last statue to be demolished around 1840. Next to the AHU is a large spherical stone that is identified with the navel of the world (TE PITO O TE HENUA), which according to legend was brought by Hotu Matua 'your boat and as the last point to visit we finally arrived at the Anakena beach with its white sands and palm trees in the background. In this area, besides the wonder of the water, there are important archaeological remains due to its state of preservation, such as the platform of Ahu Nau. It has 5 moai with Pukao and 2 ravines. The back of the moai and some stones on the back wall has petroglyphs. During the excavations we found an extraordinary white coral eye with a red scoria pupil, it is exhibited in the Museum of the Island. We will stay in this place of great tranquillity, tranquillity and to enjoy the benefits of a beautiful place. The time here will depend on the climate and energy of the participating group. At night enjoy a typical Rapa Nui dinner followed by a show at the Kari-Kari Cultural Center. Overnight: Hotel Taha Thai Wednesday September 4 EASTER ISLAND-SANTIAGO (B) DESCRIPTION HALF DAY ORONGO Hours: From 09:00 hrs. Duration: 3 hours Difficulty: Medium. In this tour you will visit the entrance to the cave of Ana Kai Tangata. For reasons of security the entrance is not allowed in its entirety, but we can have an idea of the view from the stairway. In one of the walls of this are drawn stylized birds, representing the Manutara (swallows of the sea) whose precious egg was the center of the annual competition bird man in ancient times. Then we go to the sector of Vinapu, archaeological site which is characterized by its large basalt slabs made to fit carefully like Inca constructions of Cuzco. We will also climb the Rano Kau Volcano, where there is a large lagoon, with small islands of totora and abundant vegetation and micro fauna. At the top of the volcano we find the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the rite of the bird man took place, which designated who would be next to the king the spiritual and political leader for a period of one year. This sacred figure with the body of a shrunken man and a great bird's beak is sculpted in many engraved stones. This area has several houses built with flagstone with a spectacular view of the cliff and in front of the three islets of Motu it, Motu Nui and Motu Kao, where the competitors had to come: going down the dangerous cliff, swimming on totora floats, searching the egg and go back all the way back. A true odyssey that we can understand only by being in this imposing place. As we will be in a high area of the island, and near the town, we can see the dimensions of the only area inhabited by Rapa Nui, the length of its runway, and how extensive the island is from the viewpoint to Hanga Roa. Flight departs Easter Island at 2:55 pm and arrives in Santiago at 9:35 pm. Overnight: Hotel Diego de Almagro Thursday September 5 SANTIAGO (B) Enjoy free morning and join the rest of the group in the afternoon to start the main trip.
