BUFDG Annual Conference 2019 Travel Information Royal Holloway, University of London: 7 th - 9 th April 2019 The following information is to help with your travel arrangements for attending the BUFDG Annual Conference 2019 at the Royal Holloway, University of London. By setting out our intentions regarding transfers and shuttle services at this stage, we hope that you are able to make an informed choice about your travel to the event. If you have any questions, please contact bufdg@assuredevents.com. LOCATION This year s conference will be held at the Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham Hill, Egham, Surrey, TW20 0EX. Please note that all directions are to the Royal Holloway, University of London, as on Sunday 7 th April, this will be the venue for registration (13:00-17:30). Further travel advice is given below. Details of the conference spaces that are being used are listed below, these will be listed alongside a corresponding campus map closer to the event. BY TRAIN/ SHUTTLES The nearest railway station to the Royal Holloway is Egham, next to Egham town centre. Trains from Egham to London Waterloo take about 40 minutes. You can book train tickets to any railway station in the UK from Egham using the National Rail website. We will be offering shuttle bus transfers on Sunday. These will be running directly from the Egham station. Shuttles will be running between Egham train station, Royal Holloway Campus (for registration) and Castle Hotel Windsor. Then from Castle Hotel Windsor to the University on Sunday evening (for the welcome dinner), and Monday and Tuesday (for the conference sessions). The shuttle bus from Castle Hotel Windsor to Royal Holloway Campus will take approximately 15 minutes. A full shuttle schedule will be sent out with the Joining Instructions closer to the event. For train times, visit National Rail Enquiries. WALKING Royal Holloway Campus is approximately a 13-minute walk from the station, or you can jump on the shuttle bus from outside the station which then stops at Royal Holloway Campus (then onto Castle Hotel Windsor). You can register at Royal Holloway Campus and then walk to accommodation if you are staying onsite, which is approx. 5 minutes from registration. Egham Station to the Royal Holloway TW20 0EX (approx. 13 minutes) Walk south-west towards Station Rd (66ft), then turn left onto Station Rd (13ft) Turn right onto Rusham Rd (0.2m), then turn right onto Osborne Rd (0.1m) Turn left onto Clarence St (0.1m), then turn right onto Ripley Ave (328 ft) Turn left onto Lynwood Ave (0.1m), then turn right onto Spring Rise (33ft) Turn left (223 ft) and Royal Holloway will be on the left TAXI There are some local taxi numbers below, all within the in the Runnymede borough of Surrey. BY AIR London Heathrow Airport is the closest airport to Royal Holloway Campus, and is approximately a 15- minute drive via the M25. It is also accessible from London City or Gatwick airports. If you intend to take a taxi from the airport or during your stay, we strongly recommend that you book in advance from the on the numbers shown in the section above, as London black cabs can be very expensive. Travelling from London Heathrow Airport to Royal Holloway: London Heathrow Airport is 15-mintues from Royal Holloway by car, the M25 is a mile from Royal Holloway. There is a reasonable bus service from London Heathrow, Terminal 5 to Royal Holloway. Bus number 8 leaves from Heathrow Airport T5 every 30 minutes and stops on Egham Hill, just outside the gates to the main entrance of the College. The journey takes just over half an hour. The timetable can be found here. BY ROAD Royal Holloway Campus is located on the A30, 19 miles from central London and about a mile south west of the town of Egham. It is two miles from junction 13 of the M25 (London orbital). After leaving the motorway at junction 13, take the A30 west, signposted to Bagshot and Camberley (this is the Egham bypass). At the first roundabout, take the second exit. At the second roundabout, take the second exit and continue up the A30, Egham Hill. The University is on the left at the top of the hill. Sat Nav postcode for Royal Holloway: TW20 0EX PARKING There is plenty of free car parking spaces on-site at the Royal Holloway Campus. Please note, if you wish to park at Castle Hotel Windsor, they offer parking on a first come first served basis and this is 20 per car, per day (24hrs). If you would like to reserve a parking space in advance this would be 29 per car, per day (24hrs). Please note you will need to contact Castle Hotel Windsor directly to reserve a parking space. DELEGATE REGISTRATION Please remember to let us know as soon as possible if you are planning to ari on the Monday morning so that appropriate arrangements can be made - bufdg@assuredevents.com. SUNDAY 7 th APRIL Registration will be open from 13:00-17:30 on Sunday 7 th April, within the Foyer of the Windsor Building. Delegates attending excursions have a couple of options. One option would be to come to Royal Holloway Campus first to register for the event, and then make your way to your excursion from there. We will have a luggage storage available at registration, which will be open from 13:00 18:00, so bags can be left with us and collected from us later, no later than 18:00. Alternatively, if you are staying at Castle Hotel Windsor or another offsite hotel you can head straight to your hotel to check in on arrival, and collect your badge from us later at the Welcome Dinner.

We will be offering shuttle bus transfers between 12:30 and 18:00, which will be on a continuous loop between Egham Train Station, the Royal Holloway Campus and Castle Hotel Windsor. A full shuttle schedule will be sent out with the Joining Instructions closer to the event. When this information is available please check this carefully and consider which option will work for you in terms of which excursion you are attending and where you are staying. MONDAY 8 th APRIL AND TUESDAY 9 th APRIL Registration will be open from 8:15-17:45 on Monday 8 th April and 9:00 15:30 on Tuesday 9 th April, within the Foyer of the Windsor Building on the Royal Holloway Campus. Please note that a luggage/cloak room will also be available within the University Foyer, where you will be able to leave your bags. The luggage/cloak room will be available Monday 08:15-17:45 and Tuesday 09:00-15:15 (please note that all possessions are left at your own risk, we accept no responsibility for any items). At registration, delegates will be issued with their conference lanyard, badge and bag. If you have requested a hard copy of the brochure you will be able to collect it at registration, if you have opted to use the microsite version, then no hard copy will be available. A reminder of whether you selected a digital or hard paper copy of the brochure at the point of registration will be noted on your badge. PLEASE NOTE: Delegates are required to register before attending the conference and are required to wear their conference badge at all times. You can register for excursions when you book your place on the conference website. Places are limited and there will be a waiting list in operation should your first choice not be available (please email bufdg@assuredevents.com for further information. Excursion choices are shown below (these may change slightly nearer to the event). As mentioned above, we will be offering shuttle bus transfers on Sunday, which will be on a loop between Egham Train Station, the Royal Holloway Campus and the Castle Hotel Windsor.
