Atodiad 2/Appendix 2 Cllr Sian Gwenllian s Report Feb 2015 More information on www.felinheli.org/newyddion 1)Coastal Path through the Marina and Faenol: A Planning Inspector will hold a hearing on May 20 regarding a Public Footpath Creation Order by Gwynedd Council at Glan y Mor Lodge. I will attend the hearing and will be supporting the Council s case to create a public footpath at this location. We can then move on to complete the Coastal Path over the bridge to the Marina, through the Faenol and on to Treborth. 2) Condition of the road at Bush Road and Helen Terrace: I have once again written to the Council asking them to prioritise improvement work on these two roads. But the Council says it is facing substantial cuts due to government financial policies. I will continue to press for this work to be done. 3) Youth Club: there is concern that the number attending the Club is dropping thereby endangering its future. The Club is open to young people Year 8 onwards and is held at the Memorial Hall every Tuesday evening. Any encouragement you can give for young people to attend would be appreciated. 4) Local Development Plan: For 6 weeks from Feb 16, Gwynedd Council will hold a public consultation on the new plan that will decide land use in the county including at Y Felinheli. A map of the village will be published showing the proposed development boundary and any new development sites. There will be an opportunity for everyone to voice their opinion. 5)A special meeting of the Community Council will be held on March 3 on the theme The Welsh language and Housing when the public will be given the opportunity of joining councillors to hear about a successful initiative in Nefyn which has led to the availability of rented housing for local people following setting up a Housing Trust. Y Felinheli Language Group is arranging the event. 6) Business Breakfast: a breakfast meeting (7 a.m. till 8.30 a.m.) to re-launch the Felinheli Business Forum will be held at the Swellies café on March 20 with a presentation on the advantages of bilingualism in business. All local businesses are welcome to attend. 7) Cylch Meithrin Y Felinheli: is facing financial difficulties and I have met them to discuss their problems.. 8) The scheme by Scottish Power of placing a new electricity system under the Menai Straits at Llanfair-is-gaer is nearing completion. 105
