Our proposal for Smithfield is to create much more than a collection of buildings We believe that the very essence of Smithfield will not be found in the internalised experiences of office buildings, but in the way in which all buildings and open spaces come together to form a greater whole, a greater order. The essence of Smithfield will be felt upon arrival, whilst passing through, on the way to work, during breaks, on the way home or in the awareness of proximity to the amenities of the context a revitalised public realm network. That would not be achieved by creating a limited number of large buildings, which make people feel small. We are creating a place to attract people to spend time in a progressively improving urban environment.
