Campbell River Daybreak Rotary Club Making "Service" Fun July 15, 2014 51 Rotarians were present, 4 did makeups for 74.3% Daybreak Rotary is a family of volunteers dedicated to community and international service. Bruce Izard s Rotary Moment Bruce s Rotary Moment focused on two occasions. The first centered on his visit with John. As he spoke of their fun-filled shopping excursion at Fairway Market, he toured the room with John s picture reminding us of his 20 year dedication to Rotary. Next he spoke of the great fun with Henry, Gabe, school kids, and of course, soccer. Bruce concluded by commenting that Daybreak Rotary is truly a club where we make service fun. Announcements/Reminders Gabe is leaving us on the 22nd of July. As such, Carmen and Joe have graciously stepped up to host a going away party on the 21st of July. District Governor Michael Procter Introduced by Assistant District Governor Robert Buckley, District Governor Procter spoke on the major focuses of Rotary International: The Rotary Foundation, Polio Plus and the importance of membership. We seem to be static at 1.2 million so encouraged members to invite their friends to join. He also commented on the decline of the Youth Exchange Program and how delighted he is to see it is alive and well with Daybreak Rotary. He encouraged everyone to attend The District Conference to be held June 19, 2015 in Nanaimo.
