Introduction to BFC and the Flight Camp Programs Operations The Brampton Flight Centre is owned and operated by the Brampton Flying Club (BFC). BFC is a certified Air Operator with capabilities in flight training, air taxi, banner towing and charter. BFC is also an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) to meet the needs of the Air operator, the club members and other transient aircraft. Within the flight-training program there are options for obtaining a recreational, private and commercial pilot licence. There are also options for night, and instrument ratings. The Brampton Flight College is an integral part of BFC and permits career minded students to receive specific industry training towards possibilities as a commercial pilot. Equipment BFC owns and operates twenty-one aircraft in support of its flight training programs. There is single engine, 2-seater aircraft like the Cessna 152. There is also single engine, 4-seater such as the Cessna 172. There is also one Bellanca (Citabria), which is also single engine, 2-seater but has a tail wheel configuration whereas all of the others are tricycle gear. The two 4-seater twin aircraft are primarily used for advanced commercial training and charter. BFC has 2 Flight Training Devices (Simulators). The Frasca is an enclosed cockpit Flight Training Device (FTD) with a 170 degree wrap around visual system. Though this unit is fixed it induces a feeling of flight through the wrap around visuals. It is a Transport Canada certified Level 2 FTD allowing flight training credits in the PPL, CPL, IFR, and Flight Instructor training programs. The FMX1000 is an enclosed cockpit Flight Training Device (FTD) with 200 degree wrap-around visuals. This unit has full motion and induces a realistic but not overbearing sensation of flight. It is a Transport Canada certified Level 2 FTD allowing flight training credits in the PPL, CPL, IFR, and Flight Instructor training programs.
