I would like to thank everyone who helped out at the Cameron show, we are regularly getting more members out to the meets to help set up and most importantly to participate and run trains. I m pretty sure that s why many of us joined the club in the first place to play with our toys. Speaking of running trains, Mark Horne s open house was a great success! A few new faces were present and I am sure that everyone there was thoroughly impressed with Mark s layout and also his extensive roster of trains. Thank you Mark for a great evening. On behalf of the entire Canadian Division, I want to congratulate Gary and Katelon Zabenskie on their recent marriage. We wish them happiness and smooth sailing in the years to come. I hear that Katelon has joined the TTOS and is a member of the Canadian Division too. Congratulations, I believe that means Gary now has two members that he has signed up and by my records; he is leading the pack in the Membership Contest. A gentle reminder to those members who want the Grand Trunk Pacific Reefer car, Mark is still accepting orders. We seem to be moving ahead to a sell out of this run, as we usually do with the club car. The cars are available in two and three rail versions and there are two numbers available. I should mention that when we were at Mark s house, he was running his Reefer club cars and they looked very impressive. You too could be running these collector specials just by placing your order. If nothing else, ordering a car is a good way to help support your club. Continued on page 5... President s Message continued from front page WHAT S UP? Just a quick note regarding your personal property, please make sure that you take all of your trains, and personal possessions with you at the end of a meet. There were some very valuable trains left at the hall in February. Luckily I noticed them before I left. The owner was located but I do still have an unclaimed Canada Line coffee mug. Is it yours? The TTOS National Convention Is in Altoona, PA., the first week in August. I hope some of our members are planning to attend. I am sure that the trading hall sales at this year s convention will be much different than those in the recent past. Pennsylvania is where the York Meet is held and I have a feeling that perhaps we could see some very interesting trains for sale. I have been planning our trip and being as we have family in the Toronto-Hamilton area in Ontario we will stopping by to visit family and then driving down to Altoona, it is approximately eight hours from Hamilton, Ontario to Altoona, PA not much further than Portland, Oregon from Vancouver.. TOY TRAIN OPERATING SOCIETY 2007 NATIONAL CONVENTION Altoona, PA Tours start on Monday August 6, 2007 Welcome party and silent auction Thursday August 9 Hall open for trading Friday August 10 and Saturday August 11 for T.T.O.S. members only. The small and not so small items that you donate help to keep us flush. We had close to seventy members present at our last meeting in February; let s see if we can keep those numbers up. There were some very good deals both at the table sales and the auction. See you there! All I ever want to do is play with Toy Trains! Toy Trunk Railroad www.toytrunkrailroad.com REVIEW Here's something unique. A daily comic strip about Toy Trains. Why not? Is it funny? We think so. Erik Sanson is a guy from Toronto who draws cartoons about toy trains. Cruise his archives for a quick moral boost to know you aren t crazy, it s the rest of the world.. Further proof, as if any were needed, that the niche does not exist which cannot find itself a place on the Internet. Go to www.toytrunkrailroad.com and whoooooooo whooooooooooo with laughter for an hour or two. TTOS Canadian Flyer March 2007 page 5
