Tour 1: Southern Namibia Highlights / 9 days 8 nights This safari, created for small groups, explores the highlights of Southern Namibia. Travelers will experience beautiful and dramatic scenery for which Namibia is renowned. The tour includes visits to the Kalahari Desert, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, and Windhoek (Min. 2 Max. 14 people) Day 01: Mariental Anib Kalahari Lodge Upon your arrival in Windhoek, you will be met by your ABC Africa Travel & Tours Guide who will assist you throughout your entire journey. Once settled into our air-conditioned vehicle, you will depart to Anib Kalahari Lodge. The drive will take you through Windhoek, Nambia s capital city where you will see our historic buildings and some monuments. Once arrived at the lodge, you are at leisure before departing on a scenic drive.

Kalahari Anib Lodge Anib Lodge lies on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, 34 kilometers from Mariental. To the east of Anib Lodge lie large pans that collect water during the rainy season which interrupt the endless red dunes of the Kalahari. In this desert setting, one can enjoy excellent bird and game watching. Set in the middle of a lush garden, with big trees and huge palms, the Lodge is a great getaway for tourists and travelers alike especially when travelling to and from South Africa. Overnight: Anib Kalahari Lodge on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis www.gondwana-collection.com/en/kalahari_anib_lodge Day 02: Keetmanshoop Canon Village Breakfast at the Lodge Today your journey takes you into the Deep South and the Fish River Canyon famed for being the 2nd largest on earth. Canon Village At the foot of a curved rock wall in the Gondwana Canon Park lies Canon Village, with it s Cape Dutch style bungalows and thatched restaurant. Only 20km away from the famous Fish River Canyon, Canon Village is an ideal location from which to explore the canyon. Murals in the restaurant tell stories of everyday life of the early inhabitants of this area, the Bondelswarts-Nama. www.gondwana-collection.com/en/canyon_village Fish River Canyon The Fish River is the longest interior river in Namibia, but its flow now is a puny trickle compared with the immense volume of water that poured down its length in ages past. It cuts deep into the plateau which is today dry, stony and sparsely covered with hardy drought-resistant plants. The river flows intermittently, usually flooding in late summer; and when it ceases to flow it becomes a chain of long narrow pools on the sandy rock-strewn floor of the chasm. At the lower end of the Fish River Canyon, the hot springs resort of Ai- Ais provides an oasis in this arid area. The Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world, the first being the Grand Canyon in the USA. The canyon is 550 meters deep and up to 27 kilometres wide. The Fish River is 700 kilometres long, which makes it the longest dry river in Namibia. Entrance Fee to the Fish River Canyon look-out point is included Overnight: Canon Village on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis

Day 03 & 04: Aus Klein Aus Vista Today your journey takes you to Aus, look out for the elusive Wild Horses of the Namib, Day 04 will include an early morning visit to the town of Luderitz and tour to the Ghost Town, Kolmanskop. Lunch in Luderitz. Kolmanskop Kolmanskop is situated only 10 kilometers inland from the southern port town of Lüderitz. It is famous as a ghost town in the Namib Desert. Kolmanskop was found in 1908, when a diamond was accidently found by one of the workers (Zacharias Lewala) while building the railway line to Lüderitz. This incident triggered a massive diamond boom. In those days Kolmanskop was considered Africa s richest town. Kolmanskop started declining in 1915 when the diamond-field slowly exhausted itself. It was ultimately abandoned in 1954. Klein-Aus Vista Welcome to Klein-Aus Vista in Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park! Overnight: Klein Aus Vista Desert Horse Inn - Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis (lunch on Day 4 included) www.klein-aus-vista.com/accommodation Day 05 & 06: Sesriem Namib Desert Lodge On day 5, depart Aus for a scenic drive through to the Sossusvlei area. Dramatic scenery unfolds around each corner and there are many opportunities for photographic stops. On day 6, you have an early departure to make the most of the morning light. You will be accompanied by your guide on a morning excursion to the giant red dunes of Sossusvlei and the impressive Sesriem Canyon. Sossusvlei Sossusvlei, Namibia s famous highlight in the heart of the Namib Desert is a huge clay pan, enclosed by giant sand dunes. Some of the spectacular hills of sand are, at 300 meters high, some of the highest in the world. Namib Desert Lodge Namib Desert Lodge sits at the food of a red sandstone cliff, the fossilized dunes of the protomorphic Namib. Situated just north of Sesriem, the gateway to famous Sossusvlei, the Namib Desert Lodge is an ideal starting point for an excursion to the highest dunes in the world. Among tall trees and palms are 21 en suite rooms, a restaurant and swimming pool, all of which invite you to linger and relax, Join a drive through the magnificent scenery or simply enjoy the thrill of Gemsbok and Springbok frequenting the illuminated watering hole after dusk. Day 8 is at leisure, we do however recommend a Marine Cruise on the Wavis Bay Lagoon. The tour guide will assist with the booking. Swakopmund Swakopmund, Namibia's second biggest town and traditional "summer capital", is one of the most surreal places in this land of contrasts.
