Jan, 4. 2018 4:25PM No. 6419 P. 1 Sawyer County- Airport Management Report Jan. 2018 ' ' Traffic, was normaf around the holidays. Tim's crew has been doing a great job keeping the runway in shape so we can get the aircraft in and out. We received the bill for the fence and a bill for some. of the engineering for the ILS project. We expe.ct a DOT b.alance statement sometime this month... Many of you were not' on the board when we started many years ago with discussing the fence. 10 or so years ago we looked to our users for help funding the fence. We '.. received several large contributions towards it. That money went into t~e county's general.fund. We raised more thpn en,ough money t9 offset any bills the county receives for our portion. The minutes from that long ago would have to be reviewed.. because I simply can't remember how much we raised..we did have an incident with the snow removal equipme'nt and a hangar. We h.ave notifie d the hangar owner and started the insurance claim.

Down time was about 2 weeks. What happened: Disk array crashed. 3 disks have to work together, and two of them became degraded. We had backups in place; unfortunately, they stopped working a few months before the crash. There was no notification of the problem, and we neglected to check the status during this time. Recovery procedure: IT Dept attempted recovery for about 4 days with only partial success. Enlisted DriveSavers, a data recovery firm to assist with recovery. They shipped all the data back to us. Recovery took about 1 week. Steps taken to prevent future loss: 1. Install 2 new file servers with automatic fail over. 2. Nightly backup to cloud storage (3 rd party vendor) 3. Nightly backups to existing backup server in Veterans building. Use Veeam Backup & Replication, our current backup software. 4. We will check all backups on a daily basis. This will become part of our standard operating procedure. Projects completed 1. Wiring and initial configuration for new phone system 2. Highway department: Providing good Internet service at a reasonable price has been challenging. We have tried CenturyLink, then Verizon. Finally, Norvado seems to have a good solution for us. Speed: 25Mbps download, 2Mbps upload. Cost:$79.99/month. They installed a wireless connection from the fairgrounds to a dish antenna on the upper wall of the building. We will also make use of Page 1 of 2
