WELCOME NEW SEASONAL CAMPERS We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the following new seasonal campers to our camping family. Site H-20: Suzette and Mike Raison, Elgin GREETINGS from SEASONAL CAMPERS LIAISON Allan Moorhouse, Site G-12 Thanks to all of the Seasonal Camper Volunteers for the volunteering at so many of the events held to date. Despite the challenges from Mother Nature, we have still managed to have many successful events this season with a few more yet to come. The kid s that have come to Lower Beverley Park this season have had a terrific time thanks to the new playground equipment, and events such as the fishing derby, the kid s bingo, the OPP Canine Unit presentation, the Ray s Reptile show, the children s activities and crafts, and the wagon rides. This is proof that not only do our volunteers participate in fund raising activities but they also support events that are strictly for children s enjoyment. The annual Terry Fox Walk will be held in Delta on September 17 th. The Delta organizers for the local walk are most appreciative of the participation shown by our campers. Valerie Doyle is once again participating in this event and she would welcome any one stopping by her site (H-09) with a donation. As in past years, anyone that would like to walk the first 2 km from the fair grounds to the park is most welcome. I wish to share with you, a paragraph from a letter written by Judith Fox; Hope was a big word for Terry. He left the cancer ward full of hope, believing research had increased his chances of surviving cancer Today, 36 years later, you create and sustain hope with everything you do in your extraordinary fundraising effort. Please convey our thanks to all your generous donors. The Labour Day Week-end is now upon us with lots of activities being scheduled for the week-end. Please be sure to check the schedule and plan on taking part in any event that may be of interest to yourself. Have a great fall! CAMPERS VOLUNTEER AT DELTA FAIR The Delta Agricultural Society recently presented donation cheques in the amount of $500 to their partner organizations in recognition of their volunteer efforts in selling tickets at the gates during the recent Delta Fair. A vote of thanks is extended to all of our campers who volunteered on July 30 th. Photo (l-r) Delta Fair Director Steve Ball presented cheques to Pat Phillips representing the Delta United Church, Larry Winters representing the Athens Lions Club, Karen Slack representing the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch #207 Delta, and Marie Sudds representing the Lower Beverley Lake Park Seasonal Campers Recreation Committee while Delta Fair Secretary William Morris looks on.

13 th ANNUAL CAR SHOW Volunteers and Participants alike are to be commended for their support of the 13 th Anniversary Edition of our Classic Car Show. In spite of the rainy-day forecast, 71 vehicles were registered! RECREATION COMMITTEE NEEDS YOU! In years past, we have been fortunate to have a very active and progressive Campers Recreation Committee within the park. This group of dedicated individuals has sponsored such events as bi-weekly bingos, karaoke, pancake breakfasts, yard sales, 50/50 draws and events for the children. Proceeds from their efforts have supported various projects within the park including the purchase of the new playground climbers for young children, blinds for the pavilion, paddle boats, the revitalization of the mini-putt, and the construction of the pavilion s portable toilet shelter. Should you be willing to assist at an event next year and have not already made your interest known to a committee member, please contact Pat Philips (Site D 06) at 613-928-2712 or by email to harymary@ripnet.com Help us maintain our summer programs!
