PONY TALES VOLUME 3, ISSUE 3 SUMMER 08 The June & July Meeting was held at Jeff & Debra s house in Clarkesville on July 21st. After the feast, David called the meeting to order. The treasury holds $6131.44 as we get ready for the Maggie Valley Show. The Maggie Valley Show advertisement has been taken out in Ragtops & Running Boards September issue. We discussed the upcoming show following in conjunction with Mustangs Unlimited on October 18th. It will be a Toys for tots event at their store in Lawrenceville. Tom & Jeanne will host the next meeting at their house on August 24th. Thanks Jeff, Debra, and Matthew!!! MEETING AT RAMEYS August Meeting The August meeting will be held at Tom & Jeanne Longerbeam s home in Cumming on Sunday August 24th at 1:30 pm. It will once again be a covered dish dinner. Bring your best and the club will provide the meat and drinks. Tom says the grill will be going full out. The main topic of discussion will the Maggie Valley show preparations. We will undoubtedly still need to complete some planning or tasks related to the show. The upcoming Mustangs Unlimited show will be looming on the horizon as well. Bring your shirts to be embroidered and David will get them taken care of before the show. The club t-shirt art didn t look right, so David has the art being redrawn. Hopefully the t-shirts will be ready so those of us that don t have an embroidered shirt will have them for the show. Directions are on a Mapquest print out attached to the newsletter. Tom s phone 404-218-5613 (c) & 770-886- 0817 (h)

PAGE 2 PONY TALES 35TH ANNUAL FALL SHOW The 35th Annual Fall show is careening toward us and plans seem to be firming up nicely. Rumor has it the hotels are nearly sold out in the area. On the hotel front, the Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast has offered up rooms for the weekend at a 10% discount for show participants. Granny s has moved, but we have found a replacement vendor to provide food and drink. The Eaglenest has provided porta pottys on the show field this year. No more walking up the hill for a bathroom break. We are still in need of goody bag and door prize stuff. Hit up all your neighborhood businesses. It doesn t have to be car related to be a good door prize or goody bag stuffer. Once again we plan to caravan to the show site on Friday by way of the Dillard house. More on that to come. We will get the show site about 2pm on Friday to start getting set up. David has some new banners to hang and a few new signs to help direct the participants. We need to really get a good idea about the parking situation as it looks like it may be a little bigger than last year s show. We already have 16 pre registers and I am getting about 3 every other day. The flyer mailings went out on Monday. Everyone who attended last year will receive a flyer in the mail by the end of the week. I would expect a few to come back as pre registers. Ernie has a friend who owns an Italian restaurant where we are thinking about a dinner there one night. Looks like we will have a pretty good time for the weekend between the show duties. See you there!!! MEMBERS AT AREA SHOWS Gary & Parker Bennett were at the Mustang Show at Dave & Busters in July. They were there with their 66 convertible and the 68 modified fastback. After the judging was completed, they had taken the award for best of show going to the 68. Congratulations Gary & Parker!!
