SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 2017 NEWSLETTER From the President, Bill Neal October 2017 I have been a little busy this past month. I apologize for not putting in a report for September. I hope everyone made out ok from all of the rains before and also through hurricane Irma. I want to thank everyone who helped with clean up of Annette s back room and workshop. Many hands make for short work out of a big task. We are hosting the Abate State meeting on 14, October. We have the 25 th Biketoberfest right around the corner. Hard to believe I remember when they first started it. We have the Biker Bash coming up the first of November. I hope Peace River campground gets things back in operation by then. They had a lot of flood water thanks to hurricane Irma. We have the Toy Run coming up 12, November. The food drive with Community Life Center will be after the Chapter meeting on 26, November. Then the holidays will be here before you know it. So a busy schedule for the rest of the year. We need to get motivated on getting a group together for Tallahassee on 10 12 February 2018. We need a good showing. 2018 is an election year so legislators and prospective legislators are going to be there. It can be cold but, then you can legitimately wear your leather. Start making plans to go now. Don t wait to ask for time off work on Monday the 12 th. As I say we need to show numbers. If, you care about this organization then make the effort to be there. So, as you can see, we have quite a schedule ahead. I know we have a lot of competition with all of the other riding groups and businesses. I ask you to please help support Abate. We work for the rights of all motorcyclists. Our efforts benefit everyone. I hope everyone realizes that our northern friends are starting to come back for the winter. That means the snowbird drivers will be here as well. Please, pay attention while riding these drivers may not be paying attention to you. I have already noticed traffic getting heavier. I think a few are here early checking out their properties after the hurricane. Be safe! Ride Hard, Bill Neal From the Vice President, Bill Bird It is September and we are getting closer to cooler weather for some great riding. We have a lot coming up for our chapter to participate in. Oct 14, we are hosting the state meeting. This is a great time for our members to find out what goes on during these meeting.. This is where we discuss our legislative plans for the coming year. Nov 3-5 is the State Biker Bash at Peace River Campground. This is a great opportunity for our 1
members to get to know others chapter around the state. Our Chapter toy run will be 12 Nov and we always have a great time at this event. 26 November we will be participating in a food drive to benefit the needy in our communities.
