St Albans Civic Society, in conjunction with the Herts Advertiser, is delighted to be bringing you this special local guide for Heritage Open Days. St Albans City and District Council is also giving its support. Heritage Open Days was established in 1994 as England s contribution to the European Heritage Days. The idea behind it was to raise appreciation for our rich and diverse cultural assets and the need for their care and protection. It has since grown into this Country s largest heritage festival.
