Our Philosophy MISSION STATEMENT We aspire to provide our guests with supreme hospitality services. We strive to become a best practice model for the tourism industry, putting new skillsets and technological advancements into place. We are committed to providing the framework that will enhance Greece s position on the global tourist map and ultimately reposition it as an outstanding destination for all. ALDEMAR S business philosophy is based on the core values of integrity and excellence. These guiding principles underline everything we do; the way we serve our guests, the way we liaise with local communities and the environment, the way we treat our employees and manage our company. Our holiday philosophy is contingent on the notion of creating a life experience, not just a holiday memory. By offering an abundance of choices and upholding our superior standards of operation, we aspire to provide our guests with an unmatched holiday experience, worth reliving. OUR MOTTO Celebrate Life We are determined to appreciate and applaud life. We are hospitable, generous and kind; in the true sense of the Greek word philoxenia! Aldemar CARE Aldemar Resorts CARE programme is one of the most acknowledged corporate social responsibility programmes in the Tourism Industry. The programme was first introduced by the name MARE VERDE and it was the first CSR programme ever developed by a tourism company in the Greek market. By continuously investing in innovative products and ideas and by demonstrating a high level of responsibility toward people, society and the natural environment, the Aldemar Group with over 30 years of presence in the tourism market is recognised as being one of the most dynamic businesses of the Greek hospitality industry. Sustainability Report 2016-2017 Environment think green & discover blue Natural environment and its preservation is at the centre of the Group s CSR programme. Our commitment and objective is to constantly reduce our energy footprint, but at the same time maintain a high standard of services and customer satisfaction. The Aldemar Group has installed in all its hotel complexes state of the art systems and mechanisms for saving energy, at an investment cost of 2,700,000 Euros. Energy Good Practices 7,010 sq.m. of solar panels, one of the largest solar farms in Europe meets 85% of the Group s need for hot water Central electrical switches in all rooms Energy-saving light bulbs throughout the hotels Water-cooled air conditioning units generate an annual 40% saving of electrical energy Total kwh/guestnoght Energy Report Royal Mare 50.00 0.00 Electricity/ Guestnight Diesel/ guestnight LPG/ guestnight 2014 2015 2016 2017 Year Our target for 2018 is to keep our total energy consumption at below 30kwh/guestnight Water Good Practices Mechanisms regulating water consumption for taps Biological cleaning systems throughout the Group with an annual water saving of 35% Wastewater treatment systems that store and biologically clean water which is used to water the hotels gardens. Chemicals Chemical Substances can be harmful to humans as well as the natural environment. We are working towards minimizing the use of these chemicals in many different ways. Safe storage and usage are a top priority and is controlled through continuous training of the users mainly in the housekeeping, kitchens and technical departments. Moreover, records of identification and quantities for each substance are kept throughout the hotel operation. Prudent handling of water treatment chemicals has led to a decrease of approximately 15% of quantities used from 2016 to 2017. Waste Management Reducing waste and using recycled materials such as paper and glass, is among the company s best practices for protecting the environment. Limitation of the disposable and over packaged goods, reusage of packages and products, whenever possible, is a priority. Waste is collected in specific areas where it is systematically sorted for recycling. Aldemar contributes to the sustention of the environmental balance, by RECYCLING: Blue Flag We are a sea-faring nation. We love the sea; we protect our beaches and marine wealth. We receive energy, knowledge and power and in exchange, we do our best, in a collective effort with visible results. 20 years of Blue Flags. All the beaches at the Group s hotels have been awarded the Blue Flag for their cleanliness, amenities and excellent organization. Clean Up the Med At least once a year all the hotels organize beach cleaning, with the participation of the Group s human resources, visitors and in collaboration with local authorities. In 2011 we collaborated as both sponsors and volunteers in cleaning the beach at Marathia in the Prefecture of Ilias as part of the SKAI programme Cleaning up Greece.

Our People people are precious At Aldemar Resorts we value our people and we strongly believe in the value their relationships bring to an organization, and the importance of investing in those people along the way. We build long-standing relationships with our partners and clients but we believe that equally important are the relationships developed between employee peers, employees and managers or executives, and executives and members of the board. These relationships are fundamental for the success of any organization, and investing in our people creates a real sense of camaraderie and trust. Many of Royal Mare employees are loyal. More than 27% are working in Royal Mare for 10 to 20 years while a percentage of more than 13% are working in Royal Mare for 20 to 30 years. Voluntary Blood Donation & Blood Bank Aldemar is the first enterprise in the tourism sector and one of the first throughout Greece to set up a blood bank. An important action, already in operation from 1997, with many volunteer blood donors each year. There is central management and organization of donation days and central distribution of reserves. All Group personnel and first-degree relatives are entitled to use the Blood Bank. In 2011 this Group action was presented with the Volunteer Award by the National Blood Centre.

Training Since 1999 the Group has been providing employees with educational and training seminars. This policy aims at employee development, at creating incentives for development and at constantly improving the quality of our tourist product. More than 150 people are trained annually in various subjects, such as food hygiene, Aldemar Resorts procedures and quality standards, health & safety, sustainability, foreign languages. Our target for 2018 is to train more than 130 employees. Society share and care We collaborate with Higher Educational Institutes, with special programmes through which postgraduate students are absorbed into the Group. In 2011, we welcomed the first student as our permanent colleague. We support NGOs, the official representative of the global NGO Junior Achievement Worldwide, which supports the educational community in introducing training programmes that promote entrepreneurial thinking among young people. We collaborate with and support humanitarian NGOs, such as To Hamogelo tou Paidiou (The Child s Smile), Action Aid and the Red Cross. We consider local communities our living space to which we must show respect and express our human interest. We coexist, participate and grow together. As an example of actions in 2011, we refer indicatively to the following: Red Cross, Kazantzakis Museum, 13th Heraklio High School, Special Olympics ATHENS 2011 «Polis-Amphitryon», Pyrgos Theatrical Company, HUMANITARIAN HOSPITALITY, Social Grocery, The Society of Youth Entrepreneurship (SEN),3rd Pyrgos High School. Crete-first steps towards a sustainable food destination Moreover, Royal Mare is actively supporting the project Crete-first steps towards a sustainable food destination which is a joint project set by the TUI Care Foundation and Futouris. Together with the local partners Local Food Experts and the environmental consultants BlueContec, local farmers are brought to a better understanding of sustainable management methods and are connected with local tourism professionals. The link is used to identify and exploit synergies between food producers and holiday makers. Sustainable food production and sustainable tourism services are the pillars of a sustainable regional development of the island. In the long term, an improvement in food quality and quantity is to be achieved, the negative environmental impacts of agriculture are reduced as well as the local economy is strengthened. In addition to the sustainable production of wine and olive oil, sustainable agricultural products are to be added in the long term. The holidaymakers also benefit from a larger regional food offer and more intense taste. In order to enable guests to visit local production sites and exchange with wine and olive growers, an

innovative, interactive excursion program is being developed. Awareness and communication measures accompany the project. As part of the project, seven traditional Cretan grape vines will be particularly promoted through the production of local wines, thus preserving the local wine varieties. The project is based on the pilot project "Sustainable Viticulture" carried out in 2016, in which 47 local farmers have already been brought to a sustainable cultivation practice and to organize wine events in selected hotels. Sympossio it is Greece we love The Sympossio initiative whose specific goal is to promote Greece abroad through its gastronomic culture, local products and tourist enterprises, fulfils an equally clear objective: it prepares the ground in the domestic market, so as to convey the message to tourist entrepreneurs and producers as well as to the general public, that together we can better create favourable conditions for our growth. By introducing the concept of synergy, as a business philosophy, into one of the most crucial sectors of Greek economy, it works by rallying and heartening the general community, especially during the period of severe crisis we are going through, while concurrently, over time, it will bring a positive economic outcome for us all. A journey of Greek gastronomy in the big cities of West & East Europe! Greek cuisine and diet communicated through one of the most dynamic and extrovert promotion projects ever set to motion by Greek hoteliers, that are willing to establish Greece on the world map, as a distinct culinary destination! Conclusion In this context, Aldemar Resorts CSR action came into being and is dynamically evolving ever since it s conception. For a number of years, Aldemar has pursued a series of ecological, humanitarian practices and investments within the framework of sustainability, making conscious efforts to foster live bonds with the local communities, its people and the environment. This sets the scene for the establishment of care, as a realistic and constantly expanding CSR program, inaugurated by Aldemar Resorts in 1998.
