ENERGY PROGRAMME Dinaric Arc Sustainable Hydropower Initiative DASHI The objective of the project is to prevent the development of unsustainable hydro-energy projects in the area of Skadar Lake, Neretva and Livanjsko polje in order to preserve the most important plant and animal habitats; Biodiversity research of the Moraca river canyon has been carried out, focusing on certain species from groups of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates, fish and birds, to which the eventual construction of HPPs at Moraca would have a devastating impact. Special attention would be paid to the species included in the Habitats Directive and on habitats significant for these species. The research aims at collecting the necessary data on biodiversity to assess the impact of the series of dams/accumulations for the production of electricity on Moraca on the species included in the Habitats Directive as habitats significant for these species; Research of the Moraca river canyon_jul 2017. CIVIL ECOLOGICAL INITIATIVES, CAMPAIGNS AND VOLUNTARY WORK Earth Hour campaign Educational lectures_december, Podgorica Brochure titled Renewable energy sources was produced with the aim of educating children about the importance of natural resources, the possibilities of using their potential, the role of man in their preservation and their significance from the aspect of social development, with concrete examples of good and bad practices in managing natural resources. Earth Hour is a global campaign to combat climate change initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which Green Home has been organizing for the eighth time in Montenegro. In the Independence Square, a short promotional spot was broadcast on the city video, aiming to draw the attention of citizens to the need for more bicycle use as a means of preventing pollution from traffic, which, as a consequence, has accelerated climate change; Night bicycle ride_march, Podgorica 16 17

The lights on the city sights were shut down in 13 Montenegrin cities, while Vesuv Ltd, Montenomaks CL, Hilton Hotel, Uniqa Insurance, The Capital Plaza, Verde Complex, Crnogorski Telekom, Telenor, M:tel, Porto Montenegro, Hotel Regent and many others supported the action by turning off lights in their business premises. A very important segment of this camp was the lecture given by Bushcraft Montenegro about naturalization, navigation, food gathering, ancient ways of burning fire and making shelter in nature. Milenium Bridge in the dark during the campaign_march, Podgorica During the Earth Hour, the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System recorded a reduced consumption of electricity in Montenegro, compared to the average consumption at this time interval of 1.43% while the highest savings of 7.07% was recorded in Pljevlja; Celebration of the Drim Basin Day_May, Ada Bojana An educational film Drim Basin Day has been created with the aim of promoting the natural values of Ada Bojana. Celebration of the Drim Basin Day Travel to Europe Green Home organized a celebration of the Drim Basin Day through an educational camp held at Ada Bojana. Within the camp, the participants had the opportunity to hear about the importance of the Drim Basin, that is, Ada Bojana (as part of the extended Drim Basin) through the presentations of experts from this field. This programme, having been implemented by the NGO Green Home since 2011, enables the students of the final years of studies from all the universities in Montenegro to travel to and learn from other European cities and values through travel and socializing with peers from the region and the European Union. At the 2017 competition, 10 students were selected from basic, specialist or master studies with an average grade over 8.5, aged younger than 26, of which eight of them have never had an opportunity to travel to the EU countries during their studies. VOLUNTEER CENTRE Students visit_ August, Paris Travel to Europe students began with a three-day stay in Berlin where they met their colleagues from the region at an organized reception at the Robert Bosh Foundation. In addition, they had the opportunity to hear the lectures and to participate in the discussion about current developments in the European Union and personally meet local heroes, i.e. youth actions that have contributed to changes in society. After Berlin, during the next 22 days, students visited 20 European cities according to their own interests using interrail tickets, which were provided to them through the program. The NGO Green Home Volunteer Centre brings together pupils, students, experts, nature lovers and citizens of different age who are interested and motivated to contribute to protecting their environment and preserving the environment through active engagement and volunteer work. The work of the volunteer involves engaging in numerous activities of the organization according to their interests and skills performed throughout the year. These activities include creative work and participation in campaigns, planting, afforestation and cleaning actions, participation in trainings, seminars, workshops for raising environmental awareness, initiatives and street actions for marking important ecological international dates, study visits and numerous other activities. Some of the most important volunteer activities in 2017 were: Participation in performance against GMO_July, Berlin Participation at the protest of the citizens of Poland July, Berlin Volunteers and employees of NGO Green Home, in partnership with NGO Zero Waste, diving club OCTO Diving, and MedCem, organized a beach and underwater clearing operation in the coastal and submarine sections of the Sutomore beach. The aim of the campaign was to draw attention to the preservation of the sea and marine ecosystems, as well as to symbolically mark the International Day of Coastal Cleaning, which is celebrated every third Saturday in September. A large amount of waste, including plastic bags, glass, a large quantity of cans and the remains of a beach accessories have been collected during the three-hour campaign. Several divers of Green Home and Octo Diving have taken care to remove waste from the sea and thus give their contribution. The action resulted in some twenty bags of waste collected, which were selected and transported for disposal after the activity ended. Volunteer of NGO Green Home, Ilija Cetkovic from Kotor, with the support of the organization, passed the first diving star exam, making the state of Montenegro richer for another expert trained to explore the biodiversity of the sea. In early April, Green Home volunteers took active participation during the field monitoring of plant species in Vrsuta as an important plant habitat (IPA). All-day field work was conducted by Prof. Danka Cakovic and the volunteers learned how to monitor the field. Training for volunteers and beach tenants with a blue flag was held on Great Ulcinj Beach in May. The training primarily related to the importance and obligation of removing invasive species and the way they are recognized. On the same day, the ecological action of removing the invasive species Oenothera sp. was conduced. In cooperation with experts, volunteers of NGO Green Home conducted a part of the three-year activity on mapping the Amorpha fruticos acacia in the Skadar Lake area in May and June. Green House NGO volunteers were also active during the June action in Sutomore for cleaning seashore. The collected waste was analysed by origin, while the educational exhibition on the sea was also placed on the main promenade to introduce as many tourists as possible on the need to protection the sea. Participation in the Human Rights Quest campaign organized by the Civic Alliance on December 7 to mark the Human Rights Day The application form for the Volunteer Centre can be found on the website at www.greenhome. co.me, in the section Volunteers, while this year we opened the group for accessing and communicating via Facebook on: https://www.facebook.com/groups/377318282612108/? ref = group_header 20 21
