Doral Academy of Northern Nevada: Mission and Vision Mission: Doral Academy of Northern Nevada is dedicated to creating an enhanced and engaging educational experience. Doral will provide an academically challenging learning environment with a strong emphasis on arts integration teaching strategies which will increase literacy, cognitive, and social development. Teachers, parents, students, and staff will establish and achieve individual student goals to build a foundation for all Doral Academy students to be college and career ready. Vision: Doral Academy of Northern Nevada will promote students to be citizens who participate in the societal enrichment of the communities in which they live and serve. Doral Academy will foster lifelong skills including: critical and analytical learning, confident decision making, problem solving, working collaboratively, and imaginative and creative thinking.

Arts Integration Educates the Whole Child
Arts Integration is an educational platform in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process which connects an art form and another subject area.

Staff Support and Training Affiliating with an accredited and successfully replicated program has endless benefits. Doral Academy of Northern Nevada will receive training and support from Doral in both Florida and Las Vegas, benefitting from those schools 17 years of learning and experience. The staff also receives training in Arts Integration from the Kennedy Center.

Question & Answer How is the lottery for Doral Academy operated? Doral runs a computer generated lottery system that the State of Nevada audits for accuracy. Enrollment policies are based upon and compliant with Nevada Revised Statutes. Will Doral actively involve parents and how? Yes, we ask parents to donate 30 hours a year to Doral. Parents can obtain credit for these hours volunteering in class, at recess, during pick up and drop off, PTO, school events, donations to the classrooms, etc. Doral is a community school and we want you involved in your school as much as possible. What type of technology will the school have? Doral typically opens with 1 or 2 computer labs, mobile computer carts, Smart Boards technology in every classroom (or something similar). Will there be before and after school care for my child? Yes, each Doral campus creates and manages its own before and after school care for students. Will there be a GATE program? Yes, each Doral offers a GATE program. Will there be a Special Education Program? Yes, all Doral campuses work with students with IEPs and offer special education services to accommodate each student s IEP. What will your dress code look like? Doral will be a uniform school.
