A grand total of ten rigs show up for this outing. They consisted of the following families: the Beaulieus; the Westbrooks; the Brotts and their granddaughter, Erica; the Parmans; the Jones s; the Mendez s; Greg and Jay; Bee Butler; the Becks; and both Lopez families. The hosts for this event were Victor and Melinda Lopez along with Charlie and Ceci Westbrook. The weekend began with the traditional soup and sandwiches on Friday evening. Afterwards, everyone retired. Saturday morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast prepared by our usual chefs along with help from some novices. Greg volunteered to make omelets, which were a success. In addition to our monthly outing, Bordertown Sams participated in the Mini-Rally held at Camping World. 3

Afterwards, we made preparations to make our visit to the Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences. We arrived there at eleven in the morning with a wide variety of essentials for the residents. The staff provided us with carts for our display of wares. We then proceeded to the dining room to engage with the veterans. They were happy to see us and enjoyed picking out what they wanted from the carts. There were many conversations taking place between the veterans and our members. Our group was very pleased with the visit. That afternoon, some members went shopping, while others enjoyed the new pool the resort had built. They also took a trip to the Elephant Butte Lake that afternoon. We got together that evening for the pot luck. Many members were dressed in different varieties of green to celebrate St. Patrick s Day. We started by taking group pictures. Charlie fired up the grill and cooked hot dogs and burgers. The Lopez family provided Easter candies. In addition, there was a variety of other dishes provided by the members. After a fine meal with plenty to go around, we assembled to play Quarter Bingo. The game was thoroughly enjoying by everyone present. On Sunday morning, many of the members went to the Elephant Butte Inn for breakfast. Afterwards, we prepared for our departure. The weekend turned out to be a success for all.
