March 2017 Visit us online at: www.lubbockmustangclub.com The Lubbock Mustang Club is on Facebook! (please "LIKE" us and you will automatically get all the current info). 1982-2017 35 years and counting! The Lubbock Mustang Club is Proud to be an MCA Regional Club! Car of the Month March 2017 Paul & Darlene Fillman s 2008 Sherrod Mustang Would you like to see your car here? Then send picture and information about your Mustang to Mike Cochran mrdoc126@yahoo.com or mail the info to LMC, P.O. Box 65399, Lubbock TX 79464

2017 Dues are now Due! $25.00 Send to Lubbock Mustang Club P.O. Box 65399 Lubbock, TX 79464 President s Notes Hello Everyone, Hope that you had a great February and that March is as pleasant to all of us as it was most of that month. We are a month closer to our June show so more discussion at the coming meeting about food vendor, t-shirts, etc. Please join us and help us get all the loose ends in place for another great show. Along those lines, please remember to start asking for ditty bag items and door prize giveaway items. Club members are asked to provide one door prize item and you can either purchase one or get one or more donated to the cause. We are also working on the trophies for this year so Mike will appreciate any ideas of comments on what we are considering. As for March activities, just a few shows that Mike has in newsletter and one web. Coffee and Cars will be March 4 th weather permitting.

After you make that event come over to the science spectrum and check out the severe weather day event that we hold annually. If you have a children/grand-children there are some great and fun demonstrations related to weather; information for all ages; door prize giveaways; storm chaser training and you can harass us weather folks all day. Back to the club, hope all is going well with medical issues for the Rascos and they are back soon. We ll also review ideas and preparations for the April Mustang party held at AIM bank. Come and join us at Red Zone on March 2 nd. John A Major Sponsor of The Lubbock Mustang Club Mike's Thoughts Good news from the Quattlebaum house. Kay went through her eye surgery with flying colors and is doing better. Here s what Dennis had to say Eye

pressure is way down from the 20 just before surgery. Still taking lots of eye drops. Things look good. She goes back for another post-opt in about 3 and half weeks. So we are just waiting for the eye to heal and see what happens. I m still waiting to hear from the Rasco s about surgeries for both Larry & Deanna this month. To recap what we said last month, there are a couple of events in March, note the first annual West Texas Roundup. It s for pre 63 rods and customs, so no Mustangs, but should be a good show. Then, take a look at April in the Events Calendar below! Tons of events including our Annual Mustang Birthday Party and the Blue Ribbon Rally. The 3 rd Annual Hub City Swap Meet & Car Show is May 20 and benefits local veterans. Our Annual Mustang Roundup & Car Show is June 10, and the Caprock Classic show in Slaton is July 15. Chuck and Jeff are working on flyers and posters for our show. The artwork, which will include the t-shirts also, will be done by the same guy who did them last year. Those were probably the best we have ever had, so we look forward to seeing what he comes up with this year. I ll have some new awards for our car show to look at when we meet next Thursday. They re a new type of gas pump that I think everyone will like. Please get your dues in asap so Ronnie can get the paperwork wrapped up and we can get a club roster published. Thanks to those who have already done so. A Major Sponsor of the Lubbock Mustang Club

FEBRUARY MEETING MINUTES Neal whistled the meeting to order at 7:00PM, 2 February 2017, John Robison presiding. Racer Car Wash is a new club sponsor. Larry and Deana (our secretary) are out on medical leave and missed by the club (especially me, the temporary scribe.) January minutes were approved as posted in the newsletter. Treasurer Ronnie Brown reported $7,239.60 balance in the bank. Dennis gave MCA (Mustang Club of America) updates. Please let Dennis know if you have renewed your MCA membership. Serious note: Dennis asked for prayers for Kay. She has eye surgery scheduled for Monday 13 February. Pray for successful results. Doctors say 50% chance of success, prayer can tip the odds in favor of success. Trophies for the car show were discussed. If you come across any cool and not too expensive trophy ideas, contact Mike. Chuck reminded everyone we need ditty bag stuff, planning for 200 entries. Tshirts are in progress, portapotties have been booked. Rock 101 will advertise for us. Reminder: Mustang birthday party at AIM Bank, Saturday April 15. Advertising for the party was discussed. Blue Ribbon Rally is coming soon. LMC will help with parking again this year. Mike reminded us we make money as a club to give it away Meeting adjourned at 7:40. Tommy Persons
