SOCIAL EVENTS ALVA BEACH RUN with the Mini, Vintage & Marque Clubs Sunday 24th August 2014 Car enthusiasts of all varieties ( Riley,Crysler, Mini, Morris, Jaguar etc,) gathered at the Alligator Creek Roadhouse for the drive to Alva Beach for a picnic lunch and get together on what was just another beautiful Nth Qld day.. The Hogan s caused a short but surprised moment when they arrived in their newly acquired blue 2004 Jag XJ6-X350, proudly displaying the Jaguar Flag through the sun roof. (Unfortunately there were no cameras on the go to catch the moment) After everyone made their introductions etc and received some instructions for the trip we were on our way, and after what seemed a very short drive, we then stopped and re-gathered on the outskirts of Ayr ready for the last leg of the trip to Alva Beach. Upon arrival at Alva Beach we were greeted by Ray & Julie who had managed to secure the only Pergola/BBQ area for us to use. We were also joined by some other local car enthusiasts, in their beautiful old Packard, Austin & Studibaker. Everyone tucked into their BYO picnic lunches and Rnu treated us once again to her beautiful entres. Some of us participated in a few games, or had a chit chat, while others enjoyed a walk on the beach. Author: As usual, in no time we had to pack up and hit the road for the trip home. Thank you to all our members and especially members from the other clubs who s participation helped to make it a very successful and enjoyable day out. (M Hogan) Page 4

The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.' The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?' The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What s the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know, the one that's red and has thorns.' 'Do you mean a rose?' 'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?' ONE LIFE - LIVE IT AND ENJOY YOUR JAGS Page 8
