Works in progress OLYMPIA PASS: quick and easy The first 4 tunnels of the Korinthos- Patra Motorway Alliance for Road Safety

Motorway Facts is one of the biggest and most demanding projects in progress in Europe. OLYMPIA PASS: quick and easy In the 2nd issue of our newsletter you will find detailed data on the maintenance works carried out since August 2008, aiming to improve road safety and to deal with infrastructure issues of the past The construction works for the new sections of the Korinthos-Patra Motorway are currently in progress at four fronts, where four new tunnels are constructed at Derveni, Mavra Litharia, Akrata and Platanos. The new electronic system of named OLYMPIA PASS is currently available to all drivers of the motorway and can make the passages of the drivers using the Elefsina- Korinthos-Patra network even more easier and quick. OLYMPIA ODOS S.A., giving priority to the road safety, supports the important initiative of the Panos Mylonas Road Safety Institute on the road safety through the program Roads of the future Alliance for the safety and refinement on the road. The staff of the operation company is there for you 24 hours a day to offer you their services and help whenever you need it. We thank you for your contribution in completing this big infrastructure project and we wish you pleasant journeys. The team of OLYMPIA ODOS S.A. It is a 30-year concession project, which includes the financing, operation, construction and maintenance of a 365 km motorway from Elefsina to Korinthos, Patra, Pyrgos and Tsakona. The construction includes 284 km of new motorway (Korinthos-Patra and Patra-Pyrgos- Tsakona) and important interventions and improvements on 81 km of existing motorway sections (Elefsina-Korinthos and Patra Bypass). The Agreement for the Concession of the Project was signed between the Greek State and the consortium OLYMPIA ODOS S.A. on August 4, 2008. The construction of the motorway will be completed in 6 years. Did you know that OLYMPIA PASS You can use the electronic toll lanes of Olympia Odos easily and comfortably without losing any time and reaching for cash. You can refill your OLYMPIA PASS in the toll lanes. Moreover, OLYMPIA PASS lanes may also be used by all subscribers to the electronic e-pass device of Attiki Odos. For more information, call the Customers Support Service at 22960-95555. ONLINE Information You can receive the latest news about Olympia Odos by e-mail if you subscribe to our mailing list. Visit our website at www.olympiaodos.gr Since Thursday April 9, 2009 the new Electronic Toll system of, namely OLYMPIA PASS is in place, to offer improved services to the drivers-users of the Elefsina-Korinthos-Patra road axis. This new service makes the passage through toll stations easier and more comfortable. Currently the toll stations of Elefsina and Isthmos are equipped with two electronic toll lanes and the toll stations of Zevgolatio and Rio with one electronic toll lane that can be used only by private cars (or vehicles of a height less than 2.20 m). Thanks to OLYMPIA PASS, the electronic transponder of Olympia Odos, the driver may pass the tolls easily without losing time to follow the usual procedure for cash payments. The pass operates with a small transponder installed on the windscreen of the vehicle. When passing through the dedicated electronic toll lane (marked with yellow color with black arrows on the pavement and special signs on the toll station canopy), the transponder is recognized by the antenna of the system and the passage is recorded by automatically debiting the subscriber s account with the toll fare. The OLYMPIA PASS transponders may also be used at the manual toll lanes to both charge the specific crossing and to renew/replenish the corresponding account. The OLYMPIA PASS accounts may also be replenished at the three Customer Support Centers, located at the toll stations of Elefsina, at 29 km (in the direction to Patra), Isthmos at 77 km (in the direction to Athens) and Rio, at 204 km (direction to Athens). In the near future, dedicated electronic toll lanes will be created for buses and trucks. For the time being, these vehicles may use the OLYMPIA PASS transponder only in the manual lanes. Interoperability For the time being, you may use your OLYMPIA PASS only at the toll stations of. However, we are promoting our cooperation with other similar motorways companies in order to extend the possibility to use it on other roads as well. Note that within the context of interoperability, the OLYMPIA PASS electronic toll lanes accept and recognize the e-pass transponders of Attiki Odos. 3 Customer Support Centers You may get your own OLYMPIA PASS special electronic transponder at the three Customer Support Centers (CSC) of located at the toll stations of Elefsina, at 29 km (in the direction to Patra), Isthmos at 77 km (in the direction to Athens) and Rio, at 204 km (direction to Athens). For more information about the documents required for your subscription and for any other information about OLYMPIA PASS, please call the Customer Telephone Support Centers at 22960-95555 2 3

The operation personnel are always by your side Since August 6, 2008 the personnel of Operation Company is at the side of the driver 24 hours a day in order to enhance the road safety and to better serve the drivers The patrol and intervention teams travel along the road to detect any incidents, to safely deal with them using the appropriate signing and safety means and to quickly reinstate the smooth traffic, as well as to send information to the Traffic Management Centers. The Centers personnel will then coordinate further actions on the road and will inform and call any additional internal or external forces if necessary. From August 6, 2008 until the end of March 2009, the specialized operation personnel and vehicles have assisted at least 12,500 incidents. On a daily basis almost 11,000 km are traveled to ensure patrolling, maintenance, surveillance and interventions, while response to more than 55 incidents is offered. The operation company also performs routine maintenance works, such as replacement of destroyed safety barriers, provisional repair of potholes using cold asphalt, maintenance and cleaning works as well as waste collection works. Within the framework of the preventive winter maintenance, the company performed a series of works (recording of pavement temperature, preparation of trucks for salting, patrols for preventive salting etc.). On December 19, 2008 and January 22, 2009 two large-scale Winter Maintenance Exercises have been conducted in order to ensure the perfect preparation and readiness in view of possible severe weather conditions. In February 2009, an exerciseseminar was organized with the participation of the 1st Fire Station of Patra and partly of a team of the Hellenic Rescue Team (EMAK) in Patra on the following subject: Tunnels-Approaches- Fire Detection and Firefighting Equipment aiming at the perfect preparation and readiness in case of risk. In December 2008, to quickly serve the drivers, particularly in peak traffic days, two toll lanes have been added at the Elefsina and three ones at the Isthmos Toll Stations, out of which one was an electronic lane in both stations. Moreover, on December 1, 2008 the e-pass lanes started their operation. These lanes may be used by the subscribers of Attiki Odos and concern only category 2 vehicles (vehicles with or without trailer and of less than 2.20 m high). The Customer Support Center (tel.: 22960-95555) is always available to answer your questions and record your recommendations. Your opinion Unselfishly and willingly Yesterday afternoon, at about the Toll Station of Elefsina I had a flat tire and I enjoyed the prompt assistance of the service taking care of the road. Therefore, I feel the need to warmly thank your company as well as your employee, who unselfishly and willingly assisted me in order to change the flat tire of my car. I thank you very much. Yannis December 31, 2008 Exemplary professionalism A few days ago, I had a problem with my car in my way back from Loutraki, just before the Korinthos Toll Station. Within a few minutes from the moment I had to stop my car, the service vehicle arrived. I want to thank your employee, who with an exemplary professionalism and quickly helped me to detect the technical problem of my car and to repair it. I also want to add his unexpected and kind refusal when I tried to offer him a small amount of money. This was really a positive surprise to me. The least I could do to thank your employee was to send you this letter. Konstantinos January 4, 2009 Thanks The aim of this letter is to thank you for your help in an incident that happened on 24/12/2008. Just before the Kiato I/C, where I had stopped, I lost a personal belonging (my wallet-small bag). I contacted the Kiato Traffic Police and they told me to contact the Police Station of Vrahati, where they delivered me my wallet. I asked them who found it and they told me that it was delivered by an employee of Olympia Odos. I would like to ask you if it is possible to contact him I order to thank him personally. Tassos January 12, 2009 Thanks We are a few of the many who were assisted by the personnel of your company and in particular by your employee on Saturday 10/1/2009 at about 11:30 to 12:00 on the Athens-Korinthos National Road at Kakia Skala. We would like to thank your company and this particular employee personally for helping us to change our flat tire. Dimitris, Katy January 11, 2009 Traffic facilitation On Friday 16/01/2009, I was travelling on the Korinthos-Patra road and to my great satisfaction I must say, I saw special groups cleaning the edges of the road. I am a heavy truck driver and until now, I had a real problem when traveling on this road. Due to the narrow pavement, the heavy trucks drivers should drive on the right part of the road in order to facilitate the traffic of private cars. Personally, I repeatedly suffered damages on the right mirror of my truck because the branches of trees and bushes located at the two edges of the road were never trimmed and therefore they hindered my course. With this letter I would like to thank you for the measures you take regarding this issue, which not only prevent such damages but also increase the usable road width. I hope these works will continue until the entire road is cleaned. George January 16, 2009 6

Roads of the future Alliance for the safety and refinement on the road The Panos Mylonas Road Safety Institute (IOAS) consistently continues its efforts to establish the mentality of responsible driving for Greek drivers, and presented its new initiative called Roads of the future Alliance for the safety and refinement on the road. OLYMPIA ODOS has decided to initiate a cooperation with the IOAS, and to support certain of its actions. The objective shared by all members of the alliance is to support and promote activities regarding issues that promote road safety, road safety education, study, research, information and training of the citizens, aiming at preventing and reducing the road accidents. Mrs. Vasso Danelli-Mylonas, Chairman of Panos Mylonas IOAS and coordinator of the members of the alliance, opened the event and expressed her satisfaction for the positive response to and participation in this initiative. She made the following statement: CUSTOMER SERVICE ELEFSINA At Elefsina Toll Station (29th km) in the direction to Patra ISTHMOS At Isthmos Toll Station (77th km) in the direction to Athens RIO At Rio Toll Station (204th km) in the direction to Athens Call Center 22960 95555 Most recently, the companies ATTIKI ODOS S.A., GEFYRA S.A., COSMOTE, DIAGEO Hellas and GENESIS Pharma ally themselves with the creation of this new body, as do other private and public bodies in order to ensure a better, safer and more responsible future on the Greek roads. The Alliance is supported by the Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers, the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) and the European Commission, while it is under the aegis of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Environment and Public Works, the Ministry of Health, and the Municipality of Athens. Supporters and bearers of the message of the Alliance for the Safety and Refinement on the road are the new motorway companies, namely AEGEAN MOTORWAY S.A., MOREAS S.A., and OLYMPIA ODOS S.A. Road Safety and cultured behavior on the road is a development and prosperity factor, as well as an index of the civilization of a society and a country in general. The awareness and information of people as well as the activation of all forces of the private and public sectors are a decisive factor so that our country will stop being the sad first in fatalities due to road accidents in Europe. The contribution of the companies, which commit themselves and participate in the Alliance, is in no case a humanitarian activity, but an objective and action of responsibility. Our object is to change the situation in our roads, and we will try to achieve it by doing our best, hoping that the citizens are going to experience it. IDENTITY NEWSLETTER OF OLYMPIA ODOS S.A.
