The Health and Social Care Department It was yet another busy year in the Department. In February Year 10 went to Antur Waunfawr near Caernarfon to gain an insight about working with adults with disabilities. It was an eye opener to the range of different career options in the Care Sector in Gwynedd. They were also given sound advice regarding their options when leaving school and entering the world of work. Following this Year 10 prepared for a mock-interview. We would like to thank Gail Davies, former Head of Nursing at Ysbyty Gwynedd for giving two days of her time to interview each pupil. She gave them great advice on how to prepare for interviews in the future. This was definitely a great experience for them all. Congratulations to all Year 11 pupils for reaching their BTEC targets. They all worked very hard and deserve all the best as they continue with their studies in September. On November 13 th the department will be holding a Careers Fair at the school where pupils will be able to meet a range of employers in the Health and Social Care sector. Should any parent or friend of the school like to give two hours of their time to talk to small groups of pupils about their experiences we would be glad to hear from them.
