WP6 Pilot Projects I. Main current activities: -Identification of field of coopreation and the related common activities to develop in the pilot areas and planning of pilot actions prepared for the 3 transboundary pilot areas already done -Poiplie (SK) / Duna-Ipoly National Park (HU) -Iron Gates Nature Park (RO) / Djerdap National Park (SRB) -Maramures Nature Park (RO) / Carpathian Biosphere Reserve (UA) - Development of an integrated management plan for Poiplie/Duna-Ipoly NP - Creation of cooperation agreements for the 3 pilot areas - Implementation of the planned pilot actions for all the 3 pilot areas - Organization of WP meetings - Common integrated management measures (CIMM) implementation WP4 -WP6 Joint Meeting - till RP6 The identified pilot areas are located in the 5 Carpathian Countries members of the SEE Programme Area.

Technical progress of WP a) General description Details of the pilot actions prepared for each pilot area a)poiplie (SK) /Duna Ipoly NP (HU): - Actualization of Ramsar Information Sheet (RIS) - already agreed between SK and HU partners - Creation of the common management plan for both sides of the river - official signing ceremony - Ecoturism: creation of a transboundary nature trail along the Ipoly river with prolongation of existing trails or which under implementation on both sides, and creating of a circle walkpath for the both part of the river by foot and by bycicle - Harmonization of the ideas April 2013 - Implementation till April-May 2014 - Event: walkthrough on the trail on a familiy day spring 2014 - Synchronized bird counting - Harmonization of the ideas August-September 2013. - Implementation of the first counting 2014. Spring

Iron Gates Nature Park (RO) / Djerdap National Park (SRB)

Technical progress of WP a) General description Details of the pilot actions prepared for each pilot area b)iron Gates Nature Park (RO) / Djerdap National Park (SRB) - Signed Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the field of Nature Protection with the Iron Gates Nature Park (Romania) and National Park Djerdap (Serbia) - Annex 1-is aiming to joint realization of the Pilot project For the partner, Djerdap National Park: - Research on cross-border possibilities for protected areas, - Establishment of anti fire departmant, which includes purchase of anfi-fire monitoring system and 4x4 terrain vehicle, - Participation on the meetings on regular bases. For the partner Iron Gates Nature Park: - Study on ecotourism in the border area of the Danube Gorge( october 2013) - Study on identifying threats to wetland habitats on both sides of the river Danube and specific conservation measures (october 2013) - Participation on the meetings on regular bases

Technical progress of WP a) General description Details of the pilot actions prepared for each pilot area b)iron Gates Nature Park (RO) / Djerdap National Park (SRB) - Iron Gates Natural Park would hold two communications training for rangers from both parks, which will consist in two training periods, by one at each park, protected area on the knowledge, specificity, biodiversity - local communities and protected area relations - visitors management in protected areas - Djerdap NP: Submission of documents for a joint transboundary Ramsar site Planned actions for the future in this area: - Regular information on the project results and drafting of articles on the project results to be published on local press, websites and other media - Dissemination of project results in other mountain regions of SEE

Maramures Nature Park (RO) / Carpathian Biosphere Reserve (UA)

Technical progress of WP a) General description Details of the pilot actions prepared for each pilot area c) Maramures Nature Park (RO) / Carpathian Biosphere Reserve (UA) Reserve - Organizing the Carpathian Parks Day on 24 May 2013 - A round table organized - Memorandum of understanding signed Transboundary Biosphere - Local tv and mass media will be invited - Organizing a photo exhibition at the Centre of Europe Ukraine - Organizing a workshop between the rangers of the two park administrations - Sponsor the activities of %10 PP1 - CBR

Problems and/or delays and how they are addressed: Pilot actions prepared shifted from RP04 to RP05 WP meetings are needed to be held - there was one on 25-26 June 2012, Budapest (Joint meeting with WP4) - there will be one on 25-27 June 2013, Budapest (Joint meeting with WP4) - needed to organize 2 more one in Maramures one in Djerdap / Iron Gates

Linkage with other WPs: WP 4 elaboration of cooperation agreements for the development of the identified CIMM in transboundary Pilot Areas WP4-WP6 Meeting June 2013 WP 2 promotion of the pilot actions implemented WP 5 provide data on the legal, natural and economic barriers in the pilot areas WP 7 participation and contribution to the stakeholders consultation process
