My community / only My time Hi, my name is Nicholas Giammona, I have been a director on the board for over a month now, and to my surprise the amount of work that the board has every day was extremely surprising. I know we all volunteered to help run the community and take on all the responsibility of running such a large enterprise, but WOW. What I would like to suggest is to recognize those who in some way who have helped a neighbor or our community. Whether a board director, or a resident, who did something, I mean anything to help out the community and its residents. They should be acknowledged during the month of December, this month of love and peace. I would like all the residents and/or board members to email me or text me their name and a small description of what they did and how long it took them to accomplish it. Whether it s 1 minute or 1 hour or 10 hours. And if you are too shy, then have a friend do it for you to show their appreciation of what you did for them. I would like to compile a list and publish it in the next available Springboard Newsletter, so that everybody could appreciate those who offer a helping hand to others. When I walked around the community, I had the opportunity to speak with many different residents. I found it sad to hear how negative people feel about the board directors who took up the responsibility to make Springwood ll work. Some residents have good points and some residents are just unaware of circumstances with State and Local guidelines that the board must follow. I am not asking for sympathy, all I am asking for is time and respect to figure out the best way to help our community. The board is not only looking to just save money, we are also looking to efficiently utilize the community s funds, and at the same time abide by all rules and regulations that bind our hands. Also, while walking around and communicating with residents, I found so many residents who went out of their way to help other residents that never received acknowledgment for their good deeds. Then there are the residents who decorate the clubhouse to make it look festive and the VIP volunteers who clean up the common grounds. There are those who coordinate and/or help with social functions such as the Soup Social, Bingo, Pancake Breakfast, Holiday Events, Ice Cream Socials, Exercise Classes, Coffee Socials and TGIF s. And those who deliver the Springboard Newsletters, put out flags on national holidays, send Christmas, birthday and anniversary cards. The neighborhood watch program and block captains who call us whenever there is a situation. As you can see, there are many of our residents who can be acknowledged. As I collect e-mails or text messages from you during the month of December, I will acknowledge your deeds, and thank you in the next available Springboard Newsletter. I think these people and so many more should be acknowledged for their good deeds, and maybe, just maybe the animosity and untrustworthy that I see throughout our community, can slowly change into respect and appreciation for all the residents that help others here at Springwood ll. My Community / only My Time: This month, my personal thank you goes to Donna Keher, for taking hours of her free time, to help guide me and explain the duties of the treasurer. So, as you can see, not only does the board give many hours of their free time to juggle the responsibilities of this community and their personal lives. But many residents also have joined in, with helping our community in other ways. My email address is: DJNickcombo@aol.com Title it; My Community / only My Time My phone number to text information to is: 727-439-6035 - Title it; My community / only My time So, let s try for this month of December, and send me your information, your helping hand with the total of free time it took you to help out, and believe me, it will be my honor to acknowledge you. Let s all try to put our past differences on the back burner and for this holiday season let s give everyone the benefit of the doubt, let s try to bond as a community and help Springwood ll be the best that it can be. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays to all. Nicolas Giammona, Springwood ll new Treasurer

The dog poop issue is getting worse than ever. We are finding dog poop on sidewalks and driveways as well as grassy areas. This is totally unacceptable and unnecessary. Whoever you are, you are a disgusting individual with no regard for your fellow neighbors. I am asking residents in Springwood II to report to the board any dog owner they witness not picking up after their dog. - Submitted by Art D Elia Neighborhood Garage Sale: Some residents have been asking if we are going to have a neighborhood garage sale this spring. Presently, it s looking like we will have one. Volunteers are needed to coordinate the event.
