Pechanga RV Resort, Temecula CA coupon on page President s Message It s time to celebrate! On July 5 we turned one year...young! As I look back on this exciting year, there have been so many great events held, short caravans taken together and most importantly, new friendships made. It was at an event a few months back, where I looked around at club members gathering, laughing, sharing travel stories and Airstream tips, when it struck me that, just a few months prior, many of these Airstreamers did not know each other. However, thanks to our passion for aluminum and travel, a new club has emerged. Again, thank you, members, for your confidence in signing on to (still!) the newest club in the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI). We are just hitting our stride and look forward to many great adventures ahead. In May, club members cast their votes for Region 12 (California and Nevada) officers who were inducted into office at the International Rally held in Farmington, New Mexico in early July. Congratulations to President Tom Smithson of the NorCal unit; 1st Vice President, Jim Polk of the Greater Los Angeles Airstream Club; and 2nd Vice President, Cecelia Stansbury of the Santa Clara unit. These three officers will lead our Region over the next two years and represent us not only in the region but at the International level, as well. Come meet your officers at the upcoming Region 12 Rally in Minden, Nevada and hear what s in store for Region 12 over the next few years! Did you receive your Big Red Numbers? When you sign up in the WBCCI, a unique number is given to each member. These numbers may be affixed to your Airstream, or not, it s your choice. You may choose to apply them to the front and back of your Airstream, just above the windows; or you may decide to affix them to a piece of Plexiglas, which can be easily tucked under your dinette cushion and used only when needed, such as attending the Region Rally. If you have your BRN, please be sure to let us know so that we can update the Member Roster accessed online. To find out more about the history of the BRNs check out: http://www.airstream.com/origin-of-airstream-numbers/ Our membership drive for 2016 will be getting underway soon. Webmaster Helen is working feverishly to provide the easiest way ever to continue your membership with the club. Watch for online renewals coming soon! A hearty round of applause and best wishes go out to GLA members, Jeff + Debra, formerly of Los Osos. This adventurous couple recently sold their home and upgraded to a new 25 Airstream and will hit the road for five years. We look forward to seeing Jeff + Debra at our events and hearing of their latest adventures. We also extend a warm welcome to our newest members, Matthew +Tanya of Pasadena; Kate + Steve of Ventura; and Robert of Santa Monica. We re happy to have you on board! As always, watch our website for new events and keep in touch on Facebook! Lynda
