[CF = Chapter Friend] There had been an expectation that many more Chapter Members would join in with the Monthly Ride as the Road Captains had kindly swopped out a long ride to Loskop Dam of approx 600kms with this shorter ride of 200kms so as to encourage the Members, Family & Friends to join in. Those that rode will agree that it was a great run with a bonus stop over at Die Plaas Se Gat for a short Pit Stop. Page

Just note how Peter is eating his Eisbein and he seemed to be practising to be a Disgraceful. The singer playing his guitar and choice of music was just amazing. He must have been the draw card to the venue. The waiters were very friendly, polite and handled the group s orders well. The food was hot and very tasty indeed. This definitely being a venue that one needs to keep on a short list of good venues and which could be frequented more often than not. Page 2

Sunday Brunch Run Pitstop at Die Plaas Se Gat [Skeerpoort /Harties] 03 February 2019 After leaving Woody s the group split up with Peter, Tamzin, Sean & Michelle leaving directly for home whilst the rest of the group decided to go and pay a visit at Die Plaas Se Gat. Johan rode onto Krugersdorp to visit a patient. If one looks at the place from the road then one would normally ride past as it looks very dilapidated with its old rusty old roof. But looks can be rather deceiving. Under the shade of the trees and large umbrellas the place was packed with people finishing off their lunch. The group was quickly given an open table and a few minutes later a second table became available so the Disgracefuls just re-arranged the furniture to suit. Allan, the waiter, introduced himself to Allan the Pres and then handed over his name tag to clip onto the Pres T-Shirt just under the embroidered name. Laughs were had all round and was great to be served by a waiter with a great sense of humour. Being only a Pit Stop the group finished their cold liquids and then dropped the clutches and hit the road home. Gerald took the lead on the K1300GT and led the group down the R560 to turn onto the R24 to Magaliesburg where he turned onto the R509 until reaching the R500 which then took the group into Carletonville. The total kilometres clocked for the day being just on 200kms. Once again thanks to some good planning the ride only covered a short section of the R500 twice that day. Need to mention that a certain Rider & his Kawa was missing for the day so the Satellite Road was ridden at a sedate speed & being a reasonable pace by the group. All reported home safe with the first group reporting Home Safe from 14h56 and the second group from about 16h04. Great day out riding & socializing had by all. Page 4
WRBA STARTUP JOL DIE SKUUR - Luipaardvlei 02 February 2019 Notification was posted in the Weekly News letter for a few weeks however on the day only a few Chapter Members managed to ride and go support OUR Biking Association. The arrangement being all those going would meet at 007 Garage and let out the clutches at 09h30 for Krugersdorp. Gerald posted a photo [Photo Left] & message on the Chat Group at 09h23 stating The Group that s riding this morning!. Allan had apologised early as he first had to go to Joburg and only on his return would he go to the WRBA Jol. Allan notified all that he was leaving 007 at 12h15 for WRBA Jol. Peter replied that he would be going with. With no other riders interested Allan & Peter rode off to go join Gerald and Beatrix at the Jol. Allan & Peter arrived at the Jol and quickly found the rest of the Ugly Buggers and then had some cold ones. The organisers had been rather worried as the had been a cloud burst in the morning before the 10h00 start and they wondered if the clubs would attend. That concern was quickly put to rest as all the WRBA Startup Metal Badges were sold out at about 13h30. Had a couple of cold ones and then rode home. All reported home safe. Mark has also been invited to the Auckland social on Monday evening and to the Auckland North shore chapter on Thursday. West Rand Pensioner Breakfast Krugersdorp Aerodrome 05 February 2019 Meeting point the Dros in Krugersdorp. The ride was a fairly short one to the Krugersdorp Aerodrome. Good food, great group of older bikers from variety of Clubs getting together for a Pensioner Breakfast Run every Tuesday. This has been running for a year already and peaked with 19 pensioners in Jan. Carletonville Potholes Bites Another Victim 05 February 2019 Monday morning, Hanelie whilst riding along Bornite Street in Carletonville on route to fill up her Sym Scooter with petrol before work saw a large pothole and swerved out to miss it only to hit another larger and multiple potholes which were somewhat obscured. The scooter had to be trailered home due to the damge caused by the poorly maintained road networks in the town. On a site visit one could see that the similar texture of the road and the potholes tend to obscure the pot hole until one it just about on top of them. Travelling at 40 to 50 kms Allan nearly rode into those potholes too. Both rims suffered extensive damaged but somehow Hanelie stayed on the bike and it didn't drop. The top box broke off its mounting bracket and went flying only to hit the road and suffer deep gouges. Carletonville is infamously known as the Holey City back in the days due to sink holes but today it is due to the many Pot Holes to be found in our suburban roads. Page 7
