To avoid annoyances because of the different altitudes, we start the program in Arequipa allowing the client to acclimatize gradually. It is a program with individual departures all year round. Full day excursion to Titicaca Lake visiting the Uros floating islands and Taquile Island, box lunch included (private speedboat, English-speaking guide). Overnight in hotel in Puno. 6 th day Puno / Cusco (3.399 masl) / Sacred Valley (2.846 masl) Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco. At the arrival, transfer to the Sacred Valley, visit along the way Awanacancha (private service, English-speaking guide) to meet native weavers and see South American camelid species. 7 th day Sacred Valley (2.846 masl) Breakfast in hotel. Full day excursion to visit the towns of Chinchero, Maras and the Inca s salt mines, the ancient farm laboratory of Moray, Pisaq market and the Ollantaytambo fortress (private service, English-speaking guide), lunch included at Wayra Restaurant, which offers the valley s delicious treats as well as a Peruvian Paso horse demonstration and a performance of the Marinera dance. After the excursion, transfer and lodging in the hotel. Overnight. 8 th day Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu (2.400 masl) / Cusco Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Ollantaytambo s station to take the Vistadome train (almost 1.30-hour journey 1 st class, subject to availability) to Machu Picchu town. At the arrival, transfer by public bus to the archaeological complex to visit Machu Picchu, lunch included at the Sanctuary Lodge. In the afternoon, transfer to the station to take the Vistadome train to Poroy (almost 3.30-hour journey 1 st class, subject to availability). At Poroy, transfer to Cusco (30m) and lodging in the hotel (private services, English-speaking guide). Overnight. COLCA CANYON 4 th day Arequipa / Colca Canyon (3.633 masl) Breakfast in hotel. At 8am, departure to Colca going past the towns of Yura, Pampa de Arrieros and Pampa Cañahuas, where the national Reserve of vicuñas is located. Continue trip to Chuccura and Patapampa, where the Mirador de los Volcanes is located. Arrive to Chivay to have lunch. In the afternoon, visit the market of the town and the hot springs of La Calera (entrance is not included) (private service, English-speaking guide). Dinner and overnight. 5 th day Colca Canyon / Arequipa Breakfast in hotel. At 6.15am, transfer to the Cruz Del Condor vantage point. Then, visit the towns of Macca and Yanque, and the Antahuilque and Choquetico viewpoints. At 1pm., return to Arequipa (private service, English-speaking guide), box lunch included. Overnight. The program follows on the 5th day of LUXURY PERU PUERTO MALDONADO 10 th day Cusco / Puerto Maldonado / Lodge Welcome in Puerto Maldonado, and visit the Butterfly House. After the board, begin to experience the enchantment of the rainforest, as you take a 45-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River to arrive at the lodge. Accommodation and lunch. After gathering with your guide, choose from 14 different excursions available at Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica. On your first day, we recommend a guided walk along the Trail system, into the Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica natural area, where you will discover the Amazon Basin. This trail offers an excellent introduction to the jungle environment, winding past impressive trees such as the Shihuahuaco, and the strangely beautiful strangler fig, offering excellent opportunities for bird watching and observing exotic insects. We also recommend on the first night our Twilight River excursion: a guided afternoon boat ride on the Madre de Dios River. Witness the transformation from a diurnal to a nocturnal world: animals and birds of the daytime give way to species specially adapted to the night. As you enjoy their paradise, you will learn about their habits, while you search for nightjars, owls, capybaras and big caimans. Return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight. 11 th day Lodge / Surroundings / Lodge Breakfast. This morning you may visit the Sandoval lake excursion into the Tambopata National Reserve. Glide in a wooden canoe, across a beautiful, mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, as well as red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, anacondas and side-neck turtles. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, consider visit the remarkable Canopy and Anaconda Walk. You will literally walk through the rainforest canopy. After your descent from the Canopy, experience the Anaconda Walk for about 30 minutes along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the Aguajales swamps. Return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight. 12 th day Lodge / Puerto Maldonado / Lima Breakfast. A 45-minute return trip by boat on the Madre de Dios River takes you to Puerto Maldonado, where you may visit Butterfly House.
