Port News Morelia, Mich., August 2009. - The past 28 of August, the port of Lázaro Cárdenas and the government of the state of Michoacán organized the commercial forum, named New Strategic Alliances of Success which reunited an important number of actors and users of the port with the most growth in the Mexican Port System. The objective to tie to all the clients and users of the port to form an alliance of success in the port operation in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, was crystallized with the positive affluence within the framework of these activities, when counting on the participation of little more than 200 assistants. Leonel Godoy Rangel, Constitutional Governor of the State of Michoacán, that accompanied by a series of personalities, inaugurated the Commercial Forum giving formal beginning to the development of the four Workshops which they conformed the event. The first workshop was integrate by the Secretary of Economic Development, The Enterprise Coordinating Counsel, Consultative Counsel for the Economic Development, Secretary of Economy and Secretary of Communications and Transports Michoacán Delegation, whom

exhibited to the assistants the facilities and the projects that these organizations realize like a important part for the attraction of investments and development of the state of Michoacán. The second table was represented by the Specialized Terminal of Containers of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, the Mexican Association of shipping companies (AMANAC), Kansas City Southern of Mexico and the National Confederation of Mexican Transporters (CONATRAM), who as main actors of the movement and impulse of the container load spoke of the growth that this heading has had and like a challenge ahead, the strategies to implement in the face of the increase of the handling of this type of load by the port. The third table was led to explain the project of the construction of the new customs of the port which will be the unique customs model and of last generation in Latin America, which in voice of its users represents for Lázaro Cárdenas a competitive advantage more for the efficient dispatch of the merchandise. And during the fourth table of work it was showed the history, antecedents of success and some of the projects in medium term for the port greater projection of the national port system. Finally, Alejandro Chacón Domínguez, General Coordinator of Ports and Merchant marine, gave by closed the activities of this Commercial Forum, which broke paradigms to concentrate his port community and users to establish the necessary strategies and advance together towards the same project denominated Port of Lázaro Cárdenas.

Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, July 2009.- The Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas, initiated the past 11 of July with the activities of the campaign of reforestation 2009 Seeding a Better World like part of its programs of Reforestation and Port City Link (bound). Like first stage of the campaign, the goal was to plant 3.000 trees in the ecological reserve of the Lázaro Cárdenas port, same reserve who was surpassed with plantation of 3.500 trees with the collaboration of 200 volunteers approximately, among that were authorities; representatives of the X Military Naval Zone, Harbor authorities, SAGARPA, COFOM, as well as students of the Institutes Quincy and Harvard, the Scout Group, personnel of the APILAC, Sadcom of the West and the H. Body of Firemen of the organization. It will be in next days when The Port Administration will carry out his second and last plantation of this Campaign of Reforestation 2009 with the idea to surpass the annual goal of 7.500 seeded trees obtained. With these actions, The Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas assumes its ecological-environmental commitment and promotes the citizen participation in order to stimulate the value of the protection and improves of the environment like an important factor of the social welfare.

Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas, August 2009. - The 21 of August, the Secretary of Communications and Transports, Juan Francisco Molinar Horcasitas, realized a tour of work in the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, accompanied by Alejandro Chacón Domínguez, General Coordinator of Ports and Merchant marine and Mario Alberto Zarazúa Grouse Delegated State in Michoacán of the Secretariat of Communications and Transports. They supervised the public work advance, between which are the Logistic construction of the Bridge Albatross, Service area to Auto transportation (ASLA), Railroads, Works of Dredging and the construction of the New Customs. Of which the objectives, investment and social benefits were exposed, as well as the impulse of more than 830 direct jobs and 1.600 indirect jobs in the locality consequently of the execution of these works. These works will be a benefit to the companies seated in the Port enclosure, as well as to their users and clients, besides stimulating the attraction of investments interested in the installation of new marine terminals or shipping new line, which will mean the generation of more sources of jobs and the economic development of the region. At the end of his tour of work, the secretary indicated that before the growth and projection of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas like the most important and with the most movement in our country, infrastructure investment it will be a priority factor so that it continues being developed to a significant rate in the increase of his installed capacity and connectivity with the highway network and railway.

San Luis Potosí, September 2009.- The Terminal Interior Integral Logistic in Transportation, S.A. de C.V. from San Luis Potosí y The Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas, S.A. de C.V. signed an agreement of collaboration and commercial cooperation with the aim of elevating the efficiency and competitiveness of the logistic chain between both platforms. In the presence of the Constitutional Governor of San Luis Potosí, Marcelo de los Santos Fraga, the managers from Logistic Integral in Transportation and from Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas, Humberto Siller and Rubén Medina González, proceed to the agreement signature. With this agreement, both instances look for to give projection, impulse and development to the Intermodal Runner Lázaro Cárdenas - San Luis Potosí, to impel and to develop the intermodal transportation via railroad from and towards the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas and to this inner port.

Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, September 2009.- The 29 of September the Association of Customs Agents of Lázaro Cárdenas (AAALAC) and The Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas had a work meeting, in which the General Chief of the administration, Rubén Medina González, displayed the results of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas and the new projects that will conduct and initiate operations in 2010. Besides emphasizing the continuous growth of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas during the 2009, the thematic that they boarded were the Logistic Service area to Auto transportation (ASLA), the new customs, dredging of channels, extension of sections of railroads, among others; works that will allow to give an integral service to the users of the port. The meeting was attended by representatives of 25 customs agencies of this city, They gave feedback and shared their restlessness and the one of their clients, in a matter of the development of the port and the possibilities of investment. Finally, the customs agencies set out their availability to make synergy stops in a front common to promote what today it is the port of greater dynamism in the national harbor system.
