MANAGER S MEMO Greetings from Potawatomi. After a very, very long winter we opened a little late due to very cold nights and the excessive snow on the ground in May. We opened with a well attended Open House where we met a number of new owners and greeted several old owners back for the season. The late spring held up several of our scheduled improvements but with the help of several volunteers we made up time and completed the following: New kitchen drain in the Lodge. New toilets in the Lodge, Lakeview, and Cedarwood. New electric hot water heaters in the Lodge, Cedarwood & Cabin # 1. Completed installation of new windows in the Caretaker, Cedarwood, and the kitchen of the Wannigan. New curtains in the Cedarwood. New mattresses in the Lodge, Lakeview, Caretaker and Cedarwood. New grills and concrete pads for grills and garbage box at Wannigan. New axle and wheels on fishing dock. Our recent heavy rains (15" in Barnes) in addition to closing roads in Delta, Drummond, and Ashland created wash outs on the campground road, the beach and several owners driveways. We will be installing several erosion control devices on the island to help prevent future erosion on the beach. Don't forget to join us on July 21 st at 12:00 noon for our annual "Discover Potawatomi" picnic at the screen porch. The theme this year is Potawatomi memories so be sure to bring your photos, memories and stories as well as your lawn chairs and enjoy the good food and comradery. Once again I would like to thank all the volunteers who continue to make this a special place to live and visit. If you would like to volunteer your special skills or abilities, please contact me or any of the board members. Vern Wilcox, Managing Director New Board Members We are happy to announce the appointment of two new board members who were appointed at the May board meeting. Barb Clements lives on East Island Drive with her husband, Rocky. Barb has lived in Potawatomi approximately 3 years and joins us with a wealth of experience from past board and committee associations. Ken Campbell has a place on Wilderness Court that he purchased approximately two years ago. Ken comes with a long history of business management and volunteer associations. Both Barb and Ken have been appointed until August when they will be running for a permanent seat on the board at the shareholders meeting on August 11th. Both have made significant contributions already. Be sure to attend the picnic on July 21st to meet Barb and Ken and get to know them. CAMPGROUND UPDATES We are happy to announce that just today, June 27, 2018, we completed the drilling of our new well at the campground. The water is cold, clear and iron free. We will now move ahead with the shower building renovation and new electrical monuments. Watch the web site for opening updates. Common Properties As most of our property owners know, the association, in addition to the island, campground, golf course and screen porch, also owns a number of lots on each lake and in various locations throughout Potawatomi. Where property owners are allowed and encouraged to use these locations, they are not allowed to erect any temporary or permanent structures on them or use them for parking of vehicles, boats or equipment. We continue to have a number of violations. Owners are reminded that they are liable for guests and/ or renters and are encouraged to remind them of this policy and to respect adjacent neighbor s properties as well.

Daily Specials New Sponsors Please note our two (2) new sponsors. Randy Polson of R.A. Polson Construction, comes to us from South Range, WI. Our second sponsor is Jacob Jackson of Jackson Roofing and Construction from Superior, WI. Both of these firms have done work for Potawatomi and are highly recommended. We encourage our owners to support these sponsors as they support us. These are great guys and I personally recommend them. Be sure to let them know where you heard about them ISLAND AND CABIN ETIQUETTE The island and beach are for property owners and rental guests only. Parking on the island is by permit only. Owners should be displaying their parking permits on the dashboard and guests are furnished with guest permits for the length of their rental. Violators can be towed. There are 3 properties on the island that are privately owned. One on the south and two on the north. Please respect their privacy and do not trespass Dogs are allowed on the island but not on the beach. Dogs must be leashed at all times. There are no ATV's, boats or trailers allowed on the island. There are two docks on the beach. The large dock on the north is a swimming and fishing dock only. The Smaller dock on the south is the boat dock for cabin renters. Owners may use the dock during the day, but may not park overnight. The beach, Wannigan Building and the toilet & shower building are available to all property owners all of the time and guests during their stay. Full Island rentals DO NOT have exclusive rights to the Wannigan. These buildings should be cleaned by those people using them. There is a no refund policy on cabin rentals. Be sure of your dates before you make your reservations. For tax and liability reasons, reservations and payments must be made by property owners only. When making reservations you should specify the number of evening stays you are requesting. Any reconsideration of refunds must be taken to a board meeting for consideration. Cabin rentals come with cleaning materials and supplies. Renters who clean their cabins are refunded their cleaning deposits. Any time spent cleaning the cabins will be deducted from their deposits. A common mistake is to clean the cabin and then remove your personal possessions thereby tracking in sand and dirt while packing. We suggest you remove your possessions and then clean, sweep and mop your way out the door. When checking out of the cabins please lock the cabins and place the keys in the key box on the front of the Wannigan. Check out time is 11:00 A.M. and Check in time is 4:00 P.M. We try to accommodate early check ins and late check outs depending on cabin availabilities but should be cleared in advance. Due to fire and liability reasons there are NO CAMPFIRES allowed on the island. There are permanent bar b que grills available on the island for everyone to use. Our reservation system is not a 24/7 system therefore reservation and Special considerations should be requested at least 3 days in advance These rules and procedures are meant to provide all property owners and guests with a pleasant experience while using the facilities. Your cooperation is appreciated in helping to accommodate all people and make Potawatomi a place we can all enjoy and be proud of.

FIREWISE PROGRAMS The spring chipping program went very well and we will be going ahead with the fall program on Saturday, September 8 th. We have 5 participants for the Homeowner Matching Grant Program scheduled for this summer. We also received our grant for the picnic, web site and Drumbeat contributions. Our thanks to Ben Garrett and the DNR for their continued support.

President's Letter Welcome back to summer at Potawatomi finally. It seemed that winter would go on forever, but the snow melted and the ice went out just before the opener for fishing. At this time of year we enjoy boating, skiing, and of course family events at the cabin. Everyone should get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature. The annual picnic is scheduled for July 21 st at the picnic shelter grounds. I hope everyone can attend if possible to enjoy food and meeting your neighbors and make new friends. This year the theme is remembering the history and stories about Potawatomi Bring your stories and memories to share. Your board of directors has been working hard on improvements on the island. New windows have been installed and finished in the Cedarwood, Caretaker, and Wannigan kitchen. Four new grills have been installed in various locations. Fifteen new mattresses replaced the very aged and uncomfortable one in the Lakeview, Lodge, Caretaker and Cedarwood cabins. New curtains have even been purchased. The weather has delayed work at the campground but we are hopeful to have it ready soon. The beach was greatly damaged by the heavy rains recently but we will work hard to do repairs and put in place some erosion control measures. As with many others around the lakes, the lake levels have risen a great deal and so we lost about 5-6 feet of beach area. Again, welcome back to all Potawatomi property owners and their friends and family. Rick Tello President, PPOA

Memories of Potawatomi Past & Present Bring your memories and photos of the Potawatomi to the picnic and we ll reminisce during our audience participation program. DON T FORGET YOUR LAWN CHAIRS ANNUAL SHAREHOLDERS MEETING We will be hosting our annual shareholders meeting for all property owners at the VFW Post 8329 in Barnes on Saturday, August 11, 2018. The VFW is located at 52325 Lake Road in Barnes, WI. There will be coffee and rolls at 9:00am with the meeting starting promptly at 9:30am. We have a number of items on the agenda that will be of interest to all owners, both new and old. Some of those to be reviewed will include: Status of finances to date Current policy procedures and possible changes and/or updates Review of capital improvement program, including past and future plans This is a great time to meet other property owners and the Board of Directors, as well as be heard on policy decisions and requested priorities. There are also elections for new directors. This is also a great time to thank those people who volunteer their time to preserve the quality of life and beauty of Potawatomi. We plan to have new owner packets available for new owners. We welcome your input and look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Status of septic improvements on the island Possible future improvements to the campground Election of new and possible re-election of old board members Discussion of revised By-Laws and Covenants
