69TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2017 The Annual General Meeting will be held at the North Melbourne Football Club, 204-206 Arden Street, North Melbourne on Sunday, February 25, 2018 commencing at 10.30am. All financial members and patrons are invited to attend, as elections for office bearers for the coming year will take place. A special invitation is extended to all eligible past players and officials who are not financial members of our Association to join us on this occasion. All present day players and officials are especially invited to attend the Annual General Meeting. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE President: Frank Goode Vice Presidents: Alan Jarrott, Stephen McCann Secretary: Tony Sheveleff Assistant Secretary: Warren Nichols Treasurer: Phil Carlton Welfare: Phil Carlton COMMITTEE Stephen Campbell, Doug Farrant, Michael Park, Max Ryan, Anthony Stevens DELEGATES AFLPA/ CPPOA Frank Goode, Steve McCann This Annual Report will be available on the PPOA webpage: nmfc.com.au/pastplayers To receive a hard copy of the Annual Report and Auditor s Financial Report please contact The Secretary via: Phone 03 9687 6490 or Email: anthonysheveleff@bigpond.com Copys will be available at the AGM

PRESIDENT S REPORT During 2017 we have had a number of discussions with senior club officials concerning the management of the PPOA and it s relationship to the club. These discussions are ongoing and positive progress is being made. Items under consideration include how the club can assist in past player contact, assistance with events, the set up of the PPOA assistance fund and corporate image including branding and stationery etc. As a result, this has delayed the launch of the PPOA Assistance Fund and a number of functions planned for 2017. Our program for 2018 will include a major dinner function which will incorporate the launch of the assistance fund, and a number of home game events. Another two of our major goals in 2018 - ensure all former senior players are AFLPA Alumni members and grow our membership base by encouraging all Reserve and U19 past players to become reacquainted with the club by getting involved and supporting our activities during 2018. If you are aware of contact details for any past players or officials please advise Greg Ryan at the club or NMFC PPOA Secretary Tony Sheveleff so they can be followed up. We wish the Coach, Brad Scott and his team all the best for 2018 as they build toward our next flag. Our congratulations go to Andrew Swallow on his long and distinguished career at North - we wish him well in his life after football. Other significant departures this year include Lindsay Thomas, Lachlan Hansen, Aaron Mullet and Sam Gibson. All have been major contributors during their time at North and we wish them well in their future endeavours. We hope to see them back at the club at some of our events in the future. Frank Goode Hon. President

SECRETARY S REPORT PPOA activities in 2017 included Bowls, Match Day Functions and Combined PPOA Golf Day and Medallist Lunchion. Bowls is becoming more popular with our Members and 2 events were held in 2017. The most recent being on Sunday, November 19. The AFLPA holds an Annual Golf Day for AFLPA Members with the next event being held on Friday, January 19 at Moonah Links. Our Annual Overseas Golf Tour to Thailand was a big success so don t miss the 2018 Tour to Hoi An in Vietnam. Dates are Thursday, March 1 to Thursday, March 8. As with all our events it is easy to be involved simply contact me on 03 9687 6490 or any of the Committee. Etihad Stadium home games in the Accolade Room is also a great place to chat with Past Players and Officials. PPOA tickets are available at $40 each, which include entry to the ground, access to the Accolade Room and a Level 2 reserved seat. Our seats are in a block of 15 in a great viewing area on the wing. Please book early to avoid missing out. We also have $15 tickets available, which give you entry to the ground and access to The Accolade Room. The PPOA sports apparel is available to all our Members and friends. Tony Sheveleff Hon. Secretary

TREASURER S REPORT The Financial Report indicates a net loss of $187 was incurred for the year which is down from the net profit of $4502 in the previous year. The major reason for this was a decrease in Etihad Stadium ticket sales and reduced subscription revenue. The decrease in subscription revenue during the year can be attributed to a change in the treatment of subscriptions paid in advance which was made in 2016. On a more positive note it is pleasing to report the sale of merchandise (clothing and the signed 1997 Weg Premiership Posters) has generated a small profit. If any members have any questions in reference to the Financial Reports please submit them at the AGM and I will be happy to answer them. I wish to express my thanks to my fellow Committee members and the former Treasurer, Robin Poole for their assistance and their contributions over the year. To our auditor Chris Graham at H G & Co, Certified Practising Accountants thank you for your on going support. The Associations operates on a tight budget and can only continue to prosper through the support of its members. The association offers many benefits to its members and I would encourage you to introduce former players (seniors, reserves and under 19) and officials to join our association and to support the various functions held through the coming year. Philip Carlton Hon. Treasurer
