University of Miami 2007 Hurricane Aquatics Sports Camp Ages 5-12 The University of Miami Head Diving Coach, Randy Ableman and Head Swimming Coach, Christie Shefchunas, both 4x All-Americans in their sport and coaches of multiple Olympians, NCAA Champions and All-Americans, invite you to join them this summer at the 2007 Hurricane Aquatics Sports Camp In its 10 th year at the University of Miami, the camp will be based at the beautiful outdoor pool at the Whitten Center on the Coral Gables campus. We will provide specific instruction in the areas of swimming, springboard diving and trampoline. Our instructors are not only some of the world s finest athletes, but they are also safety-certified. The experience of our instructors combined with various water and field group activities will result in a fun, rewarding summer experience. Daily Schedule: 8:45-9:00am Drop off at Stanford Circle/Check in 9:00-12:00pm Rotate through 5 stations: 2 swimming, 1 diving, 1 trampoline and 1 fun swim station 12:30-1:30pm Lunch either bring your own lunch or purchase lunch at Food Court 1:45-2:30pm Ages 5-8 Arts and crafts and board games 2:30-3:15pm Ages 5-8 Assorted field games and activities 1:45-3:15pm Ages 9-12 Assorted field games and activities 3:30-4:00pm Recreational swimming and diving 4:00-4:15pm Pick up at Stanford Circle Camp runs for 8, 1-week sessions, Monday Friday from 9:00am-4:15pm. Before and after care is available from 8:00-9:00am and from 4:15-6:00pm. Fees: The cost is $220 per week *no registration fee*; $25 for before care, $30 for after care or $50 for both. *Register for more than one camp or register more than one child (from the same family must be siblings) and receive $25.00 off each additional camp/child! Lunch: Campers may bring their lunch or purchase lunch in the Food Court located next to the pool; the Food Court offers Wendys, Salsaritas, Leo s Deli, Panda Express and World s Fair. Full payment is due to reserve your child s space in camp. 2. $50 non refundable fee for cancellation if before June 7 th 3. Exchanges will be accommodated, as space is available only. Initial *Hurricane Aquatics Sports Camp will not allow children to participate in the camp if fees are not paid in full by Tuesday 9:00am for each camp week. *Hurricane Aquatics Sports Camp reserves the right to call a parent and have a child be picked up if a disciplinary problem arises. If problems persist, we reserve the right to expel your child without refund. *If you drop off your child prior to 8:45am or after 9:00am, the camp is not responsible for your child getting to the pool area. Counselors will be at the circle from 8:45am-9:00am. *Hurricane Aquatic Sports Camp is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Campers will be provided with lockers to secure their belongings. However, the campers should bring only those items needed for camp, such as towels, goggles, sunscreen, etc. These items will also be available for purchase. Please write the camper s name on his/her belongings. *To participate in the Hurricane Aquatics Sports Camp, each camper must be comfortable in water depths that exceed his/her height. If you are not sure that your child is able to fulfill this part of the camp requirement, please contact our office. There will be no refunds given due to inability to swim. *Hurricane Aquatics Sports Camp involves a great amount of outdoor activities. Sunscreen is very important, and the parent should apply it on the child prior to arriving at camp. Camp counselors will remind and assist with the re-applying of sunscreen throughout the day.
