It s a long ride by highway both ways. Instead, Eddie will lead the ride the Lafayette House in NJ. Plans are made for Rolling Thunder on Memorial Weekend. If you are participating in the honor flight this Saturday, ksu is from DD in Jefferson Valley at 6:30 AM sharp. If you are meeting them at Westchester Community College, be there no later the 7 AM. Wear your colors. Carlo announced that WP NY Harley will be given line-up preference behind those carrying large American Flags and Rolling Thunder chapter. Eddie Denise and Dom Sacchetiello talked about the trip to Claw of the Dragon in August. It will be a hard ass ride the first and last day (400 miles each) to allow more riding time when there. It s in the southwestern part of VA. E-mail Eddie if you will be going. They need a headcount. Don Materi spoke about what to do if the group got separated by a light or traffic, etc. ALWAYS keep an eye on the bike in back of you. If we get separated, the group usually stops in a safe place. If they have to make a turn before everyone catches up, the last bike stops at the turn and waits. No bike left behind. Dennis thanked Karna for her work on organizing the bike blessing. Karna said that Rev. Tim loved doing it. They advertised the event, and a lot of other biker showed up. There was a photographer there. Karna will print some of those pictures once she has them. The First Baptist Church bulletin showed a picture on their bulletin of Tim on Karna s bike and dubbed him, The Revvin Rev. Dennis announced new members Linda Tartaglione and Carlo Albanese and welcomed back Tony Armerino.
BIKE BLESSING The bike blessing went very well. There were about 35 bikes there, and the weather was beautiful. The First Baptist Church advertised the event so we had quite a few other bikes. We also had a photographer there. Once she s done editing the pictures, I ll post some. The ones here are from my camera. Rev. Tim was very excited about doing the blessing. This is his blog on the First Baptist Church web site. He did a great job on our bike blessing We had the privilege of hosting the White Plains, NY Harley Riders Club www.wpnyharleyriders.com (and many others who checked out our website) this past Sunday for the Blessing of the Bikes. It was a fun and wonderful opportunity to meet and pray with biking enthusiasts. We prayed for protection, safety, being alert, and being open to God s guiding hand for the journey. I also prayed for all of us driving cars, that we be diligent and keep our eyes off our phones! Contrary to what the photo depicts (although it was really cool), the highlight for me was having one on one conversations with the riders, learning their road names and how they got them, hearing about their experiences and what the riding group meant to them. In fact, I learned that a biker club meeting is known, in biker slang, as a church. A place where people of a common passion come together, grow close, and share that passion with one another. It sounds a lot like what the Church is called to be: a gathering of passionate people in relationship with Christ, seeking to share that passion with one another and the world. Thank you White Plains NY Harley Riders Church for giving me another glimpse of being united as God s community! I was the one truly blessed by your presence. May you roll with God this summer and stay out of those pot holes! The church also has put a short article in several local Patch papers. A BIKER S PRAYER (In Unison) (written by Frank Miller. updated by Karna Shelton) O Lord, we praise thy Holy Name and ask you to watch over our 21 st Century chariots of choice. Keep us safe by day and by night and align our desires, filter our passions, accessorize our thoughts, fine tune our ambitions, lubricate our skills, chrome our actions, customize our lifestyles, rally our members, and map our directions that we might be the highest possible example for the world to see in this life that we are living. Fuel only the best ideals and examples in us and open the eyes of those who are biased and unenlightened so that harmony will exist for all. In thy Holy Name. Amen! *******************

Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers The Saluting Marine Since Memorial Day 2002, retired USMC Staff Sgt. Tim Chambers has stood vigil saluting all the veterans and bikers honoring the fallen and the missing. He said he first started this as a spontaneous Thank You but it is now his moral obligation. In 2012, he not only endured the heat and exhaustion but stood at attention for more then three hours with a broken wrist. He exemplifies what the US Marine Corps and a true Patriot stand for. For this we thank, you SSgt. Chambers. We thank you and all our veterans and service members you are our heroes! During the ride that takes place Memorial Day weekend every year, Chambers stands with his hand on his makeshift memorial at 23rd and Constitution Avenue and the lone Marine addresses the crowd. This is for my brothers and sisters and your fellow patriots. It stands here in honor of those in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is their memorial, he said. Boots, a rifle, flack jacket and Kevlar were displayed proudly at his feet. Families of fallen service members donated personal effects of their loved ones to symbolize their body and spirit. This is an interesting article about the early days of Harley-Davidson and racing: HOG WILD OVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON THE "HOG BOYS" OF EARLY H-D HISTORY (with cursor over link, click CTRL; and you will be brought to the article. A Little 10-year-old girl was walking home, alone, from school one day, when a big man on a black motorcycle pulls up beside her. After following along for a while, turns to her and asks, "Hey there little girl, do you want to go for a ride?" "NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking. The motorcyclist again pulls up beside her and asks, "Hey little girl, I will give you $10 if you hop on the back." "NO!" says the little girl again as she hurries down the street. The motorcyclist pulls up beside the little girl again and says, "Okay kid, my last offer! I'll give you 20 Bucks "and" a Big Bag of Candy if you will just hop on the back of my bike and we will go for a ride." Finally, the little girl stops and turns towards him and Screams Out... "Look Dad" "You're the one who bought the Honda instead of the Harley...YOU RIDE IT!! ~ 4~

For Sale 1995 Kawaski Like new 2.942 miles Asking $2,000.00 Contact: Dwight Getting at 914-760-7738. The bullets of morality fire more true than our lead, continued Chambers. I stand here to show respect and welcome these veterans home who returned at a time filled with negative sentiment for their service. We have not forgotten. An Arizona Highway Patrol officer stops a Harley for traveling faster than the posted speed limit. He starts the stop by asking the biker his name. 'Fred,' he replies. 'Fred what?' the officer asks. 'Just Fred,' the man responds. The officer, in a good mood, thinks he might just give the biker a break, and write him out a warning instead of a ticket. The officer presses him for the last name. The man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it. The officer thinks that he has a nut case on his hands but plays along with it. 'Tell me, Fred, how did you lose your last name?' The biker replies, 'It's a long story, so stay with me. I was born Fred Johnson. I studied hard and got good grades. When I got older, I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship, residency, and finally got my degree, so I was Fred Johnson, MD. After a while I got bored being a doctor, so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was my dream! Got all the way through School, got my degree, so then I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS. Got bored doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she gave me VD, so now I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS, with VD. Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS. Then I was Fred Johnson, MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Johnson with VD. Then the VD took away my Johnson, so now I am Just Fred.' The officer walked away in tears, laughing. Let Eddie Denise or Dom Siccheteillo when you make your reservations so they will have a headcount. Considering sharing a room if possible. ~ 6~
