But it was a productive period for the Lodge. At the special meeting in November, lodge members unanimously approve an expenditure to completely repave the Lodge parking lot. Hopefully the job will be done before the paving season ends. Also last month, our Treasurer, Chuck Haussermann, took the next step in his Moose membership and became a Moose Legionnaire at the All State Legion meeting in Long Island. It was an honor well deserved as Chuck has been a tireless worker on our behalf. I hope this to be the beginning of a greater number of members joining the higher degrees of Moose membership. On November 12 we celebrated the accomplishment of three of our lodge members: Paul Draiss and Doug Daugevietis were both honored as Lodge 904 Veterans of the Year. Paul for his exploits in the US Army, and Doug for serving in the US Air Force. Also that night, we recognized Sal Cioffi as Moose of the Year, noting particularly his service as Entertainment Chairman. The only area in which Lodge 904 is not thriving is membership numbers. There has been a slow but steady decline over recent years. The only solution is for you, the current membership, to bring in new members. If you see the value of the membership you hold, share it with others. Talk Moose when you can. Carry a membership application in your glove compartment. The children at Mooseheart are counting on us all. Enjoy your Christmas holiday, and have a great New Year. In fact, I haven t started yet. So, before I forget, Happy Holidays and I hope you have a great new year! A look ahead: Lodge Christmas Party Dec. 10th with the Tree of Lights remembrance. New Year s Eve with Russ Allen (reserve form in newsletter); Blood Drive on January 6th from 12:00 to 5:00: Sunday January 15th Russ Allen from 1:00 TO 4:00PM. Soup available, free dessert; and Super Bowl on February 5th- covered dish. Now, down to business. Have you noticed that we are fading away? Our membership is shrinking. We need new members with new ideas, energy and interest. Consider offering membership to your children, grandchildren, and friends. Ask them what we could offer in the way of activities that they would be interested in. Would you like to see a motorcycle club, senior s travel club, etc. All ideas are good ideas!
