July 2014 The View from the Top. July 2014 Can it really be July already???? Wow, where does the time go? Ah, the old question, and one that I certainly don t have an answer to. But, with time rushing by as fast as it does, we need to take advantage of things and activities while we can. July WMCC Meeting Saturday July 12th, 2014 For our July meeting we are going to meet at Ronald McDonald House 1323 Cedar NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 at 11am. Where we will give them the picture we all signed at the Christmas Party. From there the Falkenhagens have arranged a nice cruise. We will end up at EB Coffee & Pub 8980 N Rogers Ct Caledonia, MI 49316 about 12:30-1:00 pm. The owners Justin and Blair Nichols welcome our club and are hoping for a good turn out! I am attaching the link to the website but this will offer members a chance to have a cup of coffee, a cold craft beer, or soft drink, and or a sandwich or snack. With the Berger show approaching fast we really need to have as many members as possible in the next two meetings to assist with decisions and suggestions. Carl will have an update on what is done so far for the show, but time is running out and we could use some assistance. If you are at a show please keep in mind we are looking for feature cars. Our pre-registrations are at half of that! We have Camaros registered from 9 states and Canada!! We hope that WMCC members will join us for another great event! Lots to do and see - MIS, Lingenfelter and the show itself. Our charity is the MS Foundation of Michigan. US 131 Motorsports Park July 25th, 2014 How about a little DRAG RACING!!! Nick Kemp has decided it is time for us to get back to the strip. So after some discussion on facebook among club members July 25th from 5-11 was picked for some test and tune fun. Friday Nights include an open Test & Tune for any and all vehicles, novice or seasoned racer. Similar to Wednesdays, drivers can make unlimited time runs all evening and pair up against other racers for grudge matches. Whether you want to just test your vehicle, run against one another or just hang out with friends this is the place to be on Friday nights. Friday night bonus, $1 hot dogs at the US 131 Grill! Gates open at 5pm, racing from 6pm to 11pm Admission is $10 and just an additional $15 to run your car. Children ages 6-12 are $5 and children under 6 are FREE!!! So whos down for some stripping? Lol Doug Warren, WMCC Founder 1953-2010 You will never be forgotten 1

I came in runner up in the gen 5 challenge with my Camaro. I had a blast running in it, I wish there had been more cars but I had fun representing the Western Michigan Camaro club. It was fun to see some club members in the car show. I hope to more members next year either racing or at the car show, it was a great show over all with a lot of fast cars. Membership Dues This is just a friendly reminder. Yearly membership dues are due, for most members, in January. If you joined the Club before July of 2013, your dues are now due. It s $30 for a single membership and $45 for a couple. Dues may be paid at a club meeting or mailed to the WMCC Membership coordinator Shelley Crippin. Please make checks payable to: Western Michigan Camaro Club. His strength is coming back,..slowly, but little by little things do continue to get better. Greg needs to build a ramp in the garage to get into the house. This needs to be finished, inspected and approved by the rehab facility before they will release Bob to go "home". There are a few other things we need to get or do for inspection, and Greg's hoping to work on these this weekend. Hopefully we can have the house ready for Bob and if Bob is in fact deemed able,... get him home next week! Fingers crossed! Lets show out support WMCC If you have some free time lets get over and help Greg or stop in and see Bob. I m sure Greg would appreciate the help and Bob would be happy to see you. 2

For Sale I have an original complete numbers matching LS7 454 High Performance Mark 4 engine. New York Chevrolet Engine Plant assembled 100. This engine was bought from a gentlemen who built my 69/Z28 motor Detroit Mi. He worked with Grumpy Jenkins supporting Chevy Factory Racing in the 1960's. This 454 has been checked over and roller rockers was installed and I requested it be painted black. I have preserved it well in a heated garage. I understand these motors were never installed in a car, however you could get one installed in a car through certain sponsored Chevrolet dealerships. I never intended on selling this special motor, I'm currently in a position to have to liquidate a few things. I would like to see this LS7 get to one of these dealership installed car owners who needs one to bring their car back to it's original state. I understand a limited number of dealerships such as Berger's, Yenko Chevrolet, installed factory high performance. *Engine Has Never Been Started From Factory. Brand New. Selling/Asking Price $15.000.00 Must Sell, Best Offer. Ron (989) 245-1176 3
