President s Message Dear SouthWestars, March is usually a quiet month, with most of our Annets and perhaps their parents more, busy with the annual exams. Some of the events that were on the cards, have had to be postponed to April. I am eager, once again, to go full steam, on our community service programs and look forward to your continued enthusiasm and support. Rtn Murali Dutt G K, President Events & Programs Union Budget 2015! 3rd March, 2015: E-Meeting, a Webinar: Panel Discussion On Union Budget 2015, was conducted online, with Rtn PP Dr Sameer Hariani as the Moderator, in lieu of 36th Weekly Meeting, courtesy Dr Sameer Hariani. The detailed discussion was elucidative and enlightening. Panelists Mrs Kavitha Parmesh of M/s TSMT, Bangalore and Rtns, Chandra Babu, Ritesh Mehta and Prakash Bhat s active participation, comments and observations, made it very illuminating and interesting. Swatch Bharat Abhiyan! 8th March, 2015: In support of Prime Minister s initiative, RBSW, one among 20 participating clubs of Rotary District 3190, joined hands with Bangalore Politicians Action Group (BPAC) in its Swatch Bharat drive at Ward No 165, Banashankari 2nd Stage, Bangalore. Mr Vinay Garudaa, Civic Leader, BPAC coordinated the program with Mr J R Bhaskar, AEE, BBMP. A few SouthWestars lead by Rtn PE Shashikant V Pobbathi and about 19 enthusiastic Rotaractors from RVTI Rotaract Club, lead by its Convener, Mrs Aswathy Manish, Vocational Instructor, Architecture, RVTI, endeavored to clean up the area. A few local residents came forward to give some constructive suggestions. The first time event, helped the Team to review some perceptive shortcomings to make necessary amends in future programs. Residents of Ward 165, Banashankari Stage 2, owe it to the women Pourakarmikas & Auto driver, who work very hard every day, without wearing any safety masks and hand gloves, to keep the roads free from the garbage and the surroundings clean, indiscriminately thrown by residents living in the area. In token appreciation, the women Pourakarmikas were presented with a saree and male Pourakarmikas with cash, a well thought out gesture of good will of Rtn Shashikant V Pobbathi. SH 1 OF 5
