OCEAN DIAMOND Vessel Technical Details Built: 1974 Refurbished: 2012 Registered: Nassau Draft: 4.9 metres Gross Tonnage: 8282 tonnes Length: 124 metres Passenger Capacity: 224 Breadth: 16 metres Zodiacs: 14 Crew: 106 Cruising Speed: 15 knots OCEAN DIAMOND INFORMATION DIRECTORY We are delighted you have chosen the Ocean Diamond for your upcoming voyage. The 224-passenger vessel was completely refurbished in Norway in 2012 and is large enough to provide stability and speed, yet small enough to manoeuvre in remote areas, making her an ideal vessel for expedition cruising. The atmosphere on board is welcoming and informal and the public areas are spacious and dedicated to discovery and relaxation. Relax with a book in the Observation Lounge or perhaps join new found friends in the bar to discuss the day s events and wildlife sightings. The vessel is equipped with a fleet of 14 Zodiac landing craft and the Captain, Officers and crew offer a first-class service and have been selected for their professionalism and expertise. After a day of exploration ashore, you will return to the comfort and peace of a well-run and exceedingly comfortable ship. In addition, the expedition team, with their in-depth knowledge and experience are dedicated to offering you the best possible experience during your time on board and ashore. We hope this information booklet answers any questions you may have pertaining to the vessel and wish you a pleasant voyage. 2 +44 (0)20 7752 0000 3

AIR CONDITIONING The entire ship is air conditioned and is set to an average temperature. Please feel free to change the temperature in your cabin to suit your preference using the individual thermostat. Should there be any alterations the Captain or Expedition Leader will inform you of any changes. ANNOUNCEMENTS During your time on board, various announcements will be made by the ship s crew and the Expedition Leader. Please listen out for these announcements as they will be of importance or interest. BRIDGE During your voyage you may be invited to visit the Bridge where you can observe how the Captain and Officers sail and navigate the ship. A map of your expedition path will be available so that you can see exactly where you have been. As the Bridge is an important working area on the ship, we ask that you keep noise to a minimum during your visits to avoid distracting the officers from doing their jobs efficiently. You may leave ties, jackets and evening dresses at home. It is rather more important to wear the right clothes in order to adapt to the different weather conditions. We recommend comfortable, breathable, waterproof and windproof clothing as well as a pair of gloves and sturdy footwear. For the Captain s Welcome and Farewell cocktail we recommend smart casual attire. ELECTRICITY The electrical current on board is 220 volts (European Standard) and requires a 2-pin plug. If you have mobility issues or walk with assistance devices, please carefully consider your participation on this expedition. Getting in and out of Zodiacs and walking on sometimes rocky terrain can be challenging. The expedition team members can help you into the Zodiac and on to shore, but cannot escort you once on shore as they have other duties. The Expedition Leader and Captain reserve the right to limit the landing participation of people with limited mobility. These rubber boats, of which there are 14 on board, are ideal for our operations; they have a shallow draft and contain air-filled compartments. Guests will be advised where and when to meet the Zodiac for travel to and from the ship. Please ensure that your hands are free at all times and accept the assistance given by the crew when boarding the Zodiacs. A Zodiac safety briefing will be given.
