The meeting was chaired by Chairman, HRAO Sri J.K. Mohanty. Chairman expressed the 2 nd Odisha Tourism Conclave held on 17 th June, 2017 was greatly applauded and appreciated by invitees, entrepreneurs, bureaucrats those who come from outside as well as the senior Govt. officials. Also informed that the recommendations / suggestions gathered from the expert panelists are being compiled document form and will be submitted / circulated to all govt. officials,

travel trade and hotel industry for implementation and growth of the tourism sector of the State. Also he briefed, about the 33 rd Annual Convention of Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) to be held from 7 th, 8 th & 9 th Sept. 2017 at Bhubaneswar and Odisha Travel Bazar which will be held from 15 th to 17 th October, 2017 at Bhubaneswar which will be organized by FICCI, New Delhi. To take advantage from these two national level conventions, Chairman suggested all HRAO members should register their names and participate actively in these conventions which would go a long way in promoting Odisha Tourism in national as well as international market. Resolution No. 1 : Secretary General s Report : This report was read-out by Advisor, Sri Dipak Rathor which is given below for members information. Respected Chairman, Members on the dais & off the dais, I welcome all EC Members & members of the association. I am sorry to inform you that due to some unavoidable circumstances i.e. Elder brother of my Father-in-law expired in an accident on 19.08.2017. So, I could not able to attend today s meeting. As per the 21 st EC Meeting resolution, 2 nd Odisha Tourism Conclave held on 17 th June, 2017 was conducted successfully under the dynamic leadership / guidance of our beloved Chairman, Shri J.K. Mohanty. Also I must thanks to all the members for their whole-hearted contribution to make this legendary function a great success. As per the resolution No. 3, President, HRAEI, Kolkata has agreed not to accept any membership application without obtaining the HRAO membership. Looking at the response of members, I found that there is poor response in Rourkela & Keonjhar hoteliers. I propose before the august house to make next EC Meeting at Rourkela or Mayurbhanj for membership drive as we had already organized and succeeded in the last EC meeting at Jharsuguda. Finally, I express my heartiest thanks to our Chairman for hosting the 22 nd Executive Committee meeting at his new property, Swosti Chilika Resort at

Chilika, a new luxury destination in the Odisha Tourism map which will be named in Eastern India as a tourist destination in the hospitality sector. The said information has already been mailed to all members on dated 6.7.2017. 2. Mail received from Chairman, IATO (Odisha Chapter) inviting for participation in 33 rd IATO Annual Convention will be held from 7 th 9 th Sept. 2017 at Bhubaneswar. In this regard, Chairman, HRAO requested all members to register their names and participate actively in this convention. 3. Regarding Order dated 11 th July, 2017 of Hon ble Supreme Court on Liquor ban matter. The order does not prohibit licensed establishments within Municipal areas as briefed in this order. This order has already been mailed to all members information on dated 28.08.2017. Chairman requested new committee members to attend all Government meetings as and when fixed by them and highlight the issues raised in the meeting to HRAO. Resolution No. 5 : Settlement of Suppliers Payment : The Treasurer placed some vendors pending bills with regard to 2 nd Odisha Tourism Conclave and other related activities of HRAO for payment and the bills were resolved and passed by the house and declared to pay to the parties at the earliest. Sahu of Rayagada expressed that tourists were not allowing to Dongaria & Kondh tribal villages in recent past. On this point, Mr. Umasankar Panigrahy informed that recently they met new Tourist Officer of Rayagada at Berhampur and he assured to solve any issues relating to visiting

of tourists in future. 2. Mr. Raj Kishore Patra of Puri informed that tourist inflow to Puri is decreasing now a days, Chairman replied that it is a naked truth that unless the behavior of the management, guides, Pandas in the temple are changed and unless we take proper precautions for cleanliness of Beach and safety of the lady tourists, tourist inflow to the holy land Puri will not grow. Mr. Patra further said that State Govt. should allow hoteliers of Odisha to invest in hotel project at Samuka Beach. On this, Chairman suggested all members should write directly (Regd. Post with AD) addressed to Hon ble Minister Tourism with copy to Director Tourism with their individual details of land requirement for hotel project at Samuka Beach with a copy to Regd. Off. HRAO for compilation. Chairman further informed that an appreciation letter to be sent to District Collector, Puri for felicitation. 3. Mr. Sarosh Bodhanwalla & Mr. Sangram Ku. Das of Balasore asked the house, whether land bank is available at Talsari Beach for applying the land. In this regard, Chairman replied that all who are interested should apply directly to the District Collector, Balasore with their project details and submit a copy of the same to the Regd. Off. HRAO for necessary follow-up. 4. Mr. P.G. Nair of Prachi Resorts expressed his thanks and gratitudes to Chairman for putting up a mega tourism project at Chilika. Also he suggested that hotels must be of high standard and classified from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India otherwise no foreign tourists / high-end domestic tourists will visit Odisha. Chairman admitted the same and intimated to all members. 5. Mr. Saroj Rath of Puri raised that due to publishing of negative news in print media there is shortfall on tourist inflow to our State. 6. Chairman informed the house that HRAO members should plan to conduct a road-show in Malaysia to promote Odisha Tourism. In this regard HRAO shall prepare a tour package along with a letter to Hon ble Minister Tourism for approval and for finalization of subsidy. 7. Some members raised that TTF-Kolkata was cancelled due to the 22 nd Asian Athletic Championship held in Bhubaneswar which was a great loss for the travel trade of Odisha. It was decided that a request letter to be sent to the Hon ble Minister, Tourism suggesting not to cancel the pre fixed road-shows in future.

8. Mr. Ashis Palit of Jharsuguda expressed his thanks to Chairman for adding such a beautiful property in Chilika which would definitely help attracting high-end domestic and international tourists to Odisha. 9. Finally Mr. Sarosh Bodhanwalla requested all members not to put messages like Good Morning and Good Night in whatsapp which creates nuisance and boring rather post important news, suggestions, informations relating to tourism & hospitality sector. Whole house was appreciated for his comment. The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the Chair. J.K. Mohanty Chairman, HRAO
